Leclerc S2 main battle tanks were produced in France from 1997 to 2003. The vehicles in the second series were distinguished by improved armor in the hull and turret, new air conditioning and anti-nuclear protection systems, a modified transmission, and updated electronic and optical systems. The Leclerc SXXI is the third production series of the modern main battle tank that was produced from 2003 to 2006. The main features of the series was improved turret protection at frontal angles, as well as a new panoramic HL 120 sight for the commander with a thermal imaging channel and a laser rangefinder. All tanks in the SXXI series were later upgraded by the ICONE tactical control system under the 2007 program.
The Leclerc S2 tanks, that appeared in one of the recent updates to War Thunder, are known for the decent defense in the turret, the automatic loader, which is rare for western tank designs, a large capacity of the first-order ammo rack, as well as the devastating OFL 120 F1 APFSDS round that, even at distances of more than 1,000 meters is able to slice through the protection of most enemy tanks. Yes, the tank has the traditional weak spots of tanks in the western block with her weak hull armor, but in general the Leclerc S2 is definitely worth researching.
The new version of the tank, the Leclerc SXXI, that will appear in the next major update of War Thunder, will become the third modern MBT for high rank battles. New vehicles are nice, but I hope you spend a lot of time updating old vehicle models, untangle spaghetti code and work on bug fixes. WT doesn't *need* more vehicles, but it does need improvements in the existing game.
I really hope gaijin doesn't listen to people demanding "plz gib f15" and crap like that. fix/ balance what you already have, add a actual fun/ interactive gamemode that isn't capture a,b or c. You are allowed to do something else other than add more top tier vehicles.
Will we be seeing OFL 120 F2 for the Leclerc S2 and SXXI? With German 2a5 and 6 now having DM-53 and the US M1a2 getting M829A2, France needs 120 F2 to stay competitive in top tier, otherwise this is 400k rp and 1.3m sl for commander thermals and a bit of extra armor.
as much as id like to have F2 adding more pen wont change its preformance in game, since F2 wont be able to pen anything the F1 cant already pen

It's laready too late for 120F2, 120F2 is S1/S2 ammo. S XXI should get OFL 120 F1-B or F2-B, we will see how Gaijin handles it (given the track record i guess it won't happen)

Leclerc in this game are not a treat it's the worst mbt with nerfed ammo nerfed mobility and nerfed reload when it's the tank that won successfully 3 times IRON SPEAR competition and won over all Leopards 2A7 and Abrams tanks crew
Nice addition But given the US and Germany got new rounds maybe it's time for France to get their upgraded rounds too ? OFL 120 F2 is missing from S1s and S2s and S XXI had the -B series (120F1-B and 120F2-B) made for it. Since DM53 was added to 2A6 because it was developped for it, it would be logical for the S XXI to get it's new -B rounds as well. If of course the developers do not apply double standards to nations
Anyway. Since tank battles are more like Kamov battles now. I couldn't care less about the gamemode as a whole. And would rather see the spotting mechanic either be deleted or scaled up for modern vehicles past 6.7 so that they can be used for the range with some balance. Now your tanks and planes often do not even appear at 3km yet they can kill you if you fire but you don't see them because they didn't fire. I'm much more excited for the F-15 as it will come before the F-14.
