why doesn't anybody mention the CRITICAL ELEMENT of the caern? Tea will be served shortly after a light lunch, don't be late. Brits love to reminisce and share war stories over tea...in fact, it's their principal reason for having wars to begin with...but they couldn't have such engaging tea time chats without the help of their buddies the Germans, if there were no bad guys to have the wars with, what an empty meaningless time Tea would be? right?
All british tanks have a hot water boiler fitted in as how can we fight without a brew in our hands and it's proven fact that tea with milk is good for morale and spot our tea flowing the SAS will get ya. :)
Don't mention the war... at least until tea is served!
I looked at the title and thought it was the Russian T-34, lol, which would not be very fair XD
E 100 Vs the Sad maus
i feel like the Caernarvon wins even more then they said in the video as they forgot to mention the use of first generation sabot for the Caernarvon that boast a 1400m/s velocity and a 218mm pen at 1500 meaters, so there is not much contest here, the tiger 105 is more of a balance vs the t34.
I haven't reached BR 6.7 yet, but have had BR 5.7 and BR 6.3 tanks face the Caernarvon, and the result for me was always negative.
Personally i like both,i think the reload rate wins it for me on the caernarvon. If this tank was a prototype leading to the conqueror to specifically combat the is3 why when i use caernarvon and conqueror tanks am i always put up against world war 2 tanks? And that's why i don't play them very much. Surely a little bit of realism in matchmaking would go a long way (or scrap and re do the br system).
True, true and true!
The Caernarvon does great against similar post war tanks such as the T-54s and IS-6 anyway. If anything, War tanks like the Tiger 2 are more annoying because of the damned machine gunner.
AP AP AP
The Caernarvon has armour behind the gun-shield... uh. From what I've seen it doesn't. Otherwise its own AP wouldn't be able to go through it. Which it currently can.
? Its center mantlet cast is 188mm effective thickness... just like the T34 and if you bothered to check it has a cast 20mm spall shield behind it... just like the T34 making just over 200mm effective thickness total, just like the T34
Muhh british sabot
I'd just like to add that the Caernarvon's APDS isn't really worth using as a main shell due to lack of damage, something that the T34's AP dishes out in ridiculous quantities.
You really dont need damage, Dms. I havent used the 20pdr solid shot in ages, slightly more damage but a hell of alot more faff is not worth it. High velocity 6.7s reload Tiger 2-hull penning APDS anyday.
