In the upcoming economy update we will focus on the overly expensive repair of heavy bombers. Repair prices, awards for base bombing and costs for suspended weaponry will be corrected and all this will make flying out in heavy bombers much less risky and more affordable for average players. This will of course have an effect on any kind of bombing attack from all bomb capable aircraft.
In addition to the automatic balancing (manual adjustment being done regularly after major updates) of Battle Ratings in War Thunder, there is also an automatic algorithm that is responsible for the game economy. Among its tasks are also the adjustment of repair prices depending on the average earnings of the specific vehicles. Bombers possess base destruction as a unique goal which brings greater income, however, heavy bombers find themselves in a situation over time where prices for repair automatically increase to a substantial amount. This has made flying out in them an economically risky business for players.
Repair cost of some bombers will be reduced !
To solve this problem it would not be enough to simply reduce the award for base bombing and therefore the repair cost because even within one rank the aircraft may have very different carrying capacities which would result in a situation where lightweight bombers would receive a low amount of awards. We believe that the optimal solution is an algorithm that adjusts the award value for base bombing based on the current bomb load. This in turn will reduce the repair cost of some bombers and will not affect the total income of the vehicles even with a low bomb load in any battle result.
For example: a Tu-2S-44 (BR 6.0) with 2,000 kg of bombs will receive a decent award for successful base bombing and the B-24D-25-CO (BR 6.0) with 3,600 kg bombs in turn will not reflect twice the repair costs of the Tu-2S.
The algorithm will affect only awards for base bombing and will not affect other battle awards in any way. So bombers will still retain the ability to provide their pilots with stable Silver Lion earnings.
Full table
The data presented in the table is preliminary and may change during the development process.
We constantly revisit and revise economy changes and will look again at all areas. For now we plan to make these specific changes that affect all bomb capable aircraft at the beginning of October. We would be happy to receive your opinions and suggestions on this topic.

so if im reading this right aced bombers are getting heavily nerfed in silver lions earnings so now i have to play with stock bomloads to make money. this makes no sense. i'm now being penalised for working hard to get my plane at peak performance. and i will potentially win a battle with my big bombs but get half the reward i do now.... gee thanks...
you're not reading it right - 'old' means 'before this change' and 'new' means 'after this change'. repair costs Gaijin quotes in these sorts of tables always refer to stock repair costs, the earning of course depend on the bombload selected (some of which are stock, some aren't). On the whole, you can expect to pay a little/lot less for repairs, but in exchange your income will be hurt much more.
This is completely stupid, for example a tu-4 will have a rep cost of 28k but can only make 20k for dropping all 8 1500kg bombs. Thats if it can even get to drop its bombs at a br where aim 9b's make bomber pilots suicidal............
Repair/award ratios of some bombers in RB (lower is more profitable, assuming you live to drop all bombs): G8N 2.26, B-29 0.72, Tu-4 1.43, He 177 0.43, Lancaster Mk III 0.47. It might be just me but those don't look balanced at all.
Slight reduce to repair cost but huge nerf to reward, which mean the already useless heavy bombers are even worse.
A horrible change. Especially for simulator battles. Chinese and Russians squads farm lions by abusing those bombers. You just have to bomb airfields continuously, bail and repeat. This is just horrible. This will force people out of your game.
Hey Gaijin, you do realize the main reason why some players play bombers in the first place is to make a profit with SL right? The repair costs were the only risk factor that prevented some players them from taking it out in battle but now you've reduced the only purpose for actually using them... Please reconsider the bombing award adjustment and leave it as it is... Let people actually enjoy taking our their bombers for once... -Woohooie
reduce 20% of the repair cost and reduce 60% of the reward, genius! If you got shot down, thats half of the 40% from above. that makes 20%. Greatest genius ! No to the change! like my comment to show GAIJIN, we are not stupid !
Gaijin, you've done it again. BV238, a plane which I bought to grind SL. Repair cost (old) $2200, (new) $2200, bomb loadout are both 0, bombing reward from $2601 to $1232. What the actual fuck is this shit. I want a refund. After spending money for this game, you still want more. Disappointing.

nice
So the last part if I correctly understand it means the bombers with larger bomb loads get less per bomb/ton than smaller bombers but overall should get the same rewards if they drop all their bombs? seems like a fair compromise.
If only that were true, but a B-29 will get rewarded 17.7k for bombing while a G8N gets 6.9k. A Tu-4 gets 20k if it can avoid the guided missiles and a He 177 is looking at 13.1k. Note also that the repair costs for these planes are not proportionate to the reward - B-29 can recover its repair cost with one payload while the G8N needs three.
