D-Day was a stunning allied landing operation. This day was the beginning of a full-fledged offensive in North-Western France, and subsequently - the defeat of the Germans in the Ardennes and the invasion of western Germany. The opening of the Second Front brought victory for the entire Allied coalition in Europe closer.
The Allied landings in Normandy on June the 6th, 1944, have become the greatest landing operation in history, and the beginning of the long-anticipated land operation for the Allies in Europe. ‘D-Day’ was the first stage of operation ‘Overlord’, developed to liberate the North-West part of France, and to maintain further advances towards the western borders of Germany. The landing operation began at night, when thousands of paratroopers floated to the ground in Normandy close to the enemy defenses. A sea landing along a lengthy 80 kilometers of shore became the most dramatic part of the operation. Sector ‘Omaha beach’ was the most difficult part of the shore to conquer, with well-organized German defenses on the high rocks and wide fire-swept beach. An impending sea storm made this landing even harder, slowing down transport vessels, preventing effective ship naval bombardment and stifling air support. At great human cost, the allied forces stormed the beach strongholds, securing the landing area for tanks and engineering companies.

In my oppinion Getting 1st place 8 times seems a bit too much for the average person and the feeling is that you play against your team rather that with it, (opposite of the values that D-day should evoke). From what i've seen getting into a plane is easier on the germans's side and there are more available per team. Many of us didn't field the required vehicles much less having them upgraded, which is a big factor in one's performance.
It is better to type in english
if I have a vehicle(m4a5) thats offered in the tournaments and i win that will i get golden eagles instead or will i just get nothing
If you already got prized vehicle on your account, you will get 1500GE (1st place) or 1000GE (2nd and 3rd).
Stona_WT, *15000 for the first place
Why is everyone complaining about having to get 1st place. That's probably the easiest part. Great stuff gaijin! I already had all the vehicles in the packs, but the titles and decals are awesome!
for your average player it isnt, and im actually a pretty good player, i usually come in top 5 and i can get kill after kill..so...
KotaFox, I'm on my 5th Air 1st place win already. Didn't even take me an hour to get that far.
Why do you keep excluding Enduring Confrontation? No love for simulator mode pilots!
Sadly, Russian Tech Tree players cant really do the event or the Tournaments... and I'm one of them, I really love the world war history and im really excited about the day of the 75th Anniversary of D-Day... hopefully other tech tree players can try this Event even though they dontplay the america, germany, or british tech trees.
As an Soviet/Russian tech tree player i really cant wait for next year. The 75th year of the battle of Berlin.
War_Gaming_NL, Or... Big thonk, people could not limit themselves to playing one tree exclusively.
give me 1.89 skin box gajin !!
Soon™
Since this is a great event too, can we get something good for German Unity Day? Not just a 70 dollar bundle?
It would be nice to no longer see this type of event of things from 75 years ago now remembered only by our nagagic, who no longer care much, but on the contrary something more recent like the 6 day war, or korea, or again or irak war.
hopefully things are looking up after last event. GL gaijin
