World War has begun, soldiers! Mobilization!
Attention! Outdated news format. Content may not display correctly.
We knew from the very beginning that World War mode would become an inherent part of the game that would allow all aircraft, ground vehicles and fleet so accurately recreated in the game, to truly shine in historical battles.
Today we are proud to announce the new start of World War mode!
World War is beginning with “Recon under Fire” - it’s the name of the first season which contains “The Battle of the Vitebsk”, “The Battle of El Alamein”, “Northwind” operations and “The Battle for Caen“. Fight for valuable awards until the 10th of June as a member of a squadron or be a lone fighter. World War is open for everyone!
War Thunder is a game about war.
A world war.
The War Thunder Team

I mean this is neat and all, but the actual game still needs fixing. so many minor things that aint fixed are just adding up into a series of major issues over the years. If you took 6 months of nothing but game fixing and not dishing new content I personally think the player base would be happy to know that and would overwhelmingly agree to that, it has always been your biggest flaw. Not fixing and altering content when there are major issues with it. British tech tree is one major example...
Ehhhh looks like something is missing.... This trailer shows how wwii should be.... empty and hollow.... or WHERE ARE THE MEN FIGHTING?
Are ground force able to to now use the full map in WW mode?
Yo this looks insane, and as close to Tank EC that we might get. If you guys manage to fuck it up, I will take it upon myself to travel to Russia, find Dmitry Gordeev, and fuck him up. That being said, if it is executed well, this might end up being the best part of WT
Another mode to spread even more an already pulverized user base and alienate even more players with longer queues on the already existing modes.
RB with markers= Arcade crap...how about marking only spoted vehicles?Thats what Scouts are for or ? Use common sense for once..
im quite new on the game, just like 8 months, but since then i have seen a lot of new things added to the game, naval ships, helicopters, supersonic jets and now radars and misiles, all that in less than 8 months, they must have been months or years of development, but all that in the time i saw is impresive, not even the most popular games with bigger companys right now have been updated like that, from what i researched gaijin is not a big company with more than 300 employees, and it has ot...
other games on its hands, why attack them to this extreme? if u dont like the new gamemode show it dont playing it or giving other type of feedback, dont attacking them and discrediting their job, from my view u will be the first ones to be ignored if u just critic the new things just because it dont fit ur style of playing or u just dont like it. a developer wants it game to reach people and they are tryng it, sorry for being a new user, but i like this game
Oh yeah, and instead of introducing new modes that nobody's going to play, and vehicles that nobody's going to even come close to getting, you should be focusing on the economy and listen to our feedback. We have more than 1000 vehicles. I think it's about time you reduced the time needed to get each one. There's plenty of grind even if the rp and money needed goes down by 50%. Just saying ....
For me the interface is hard to navigate through. E.I. it's hard to know in what battle you actually are and what vehicles are available.
I have to say I'm disappointed that World War mode ended up being Scenarios. World War being the end result of a "season" of Scenarios sounds extremely lackluster to me. I predict that the Scenarios to be played won't even change based on how the last one ended, and they just sum up the total score gained by each side and declare World War winner based on that.
