World War has begun, soldiers! Mobilization!
Attention! Outdated news format. Content may not display correctly.
We knew from the very beginning that World War mode would become an inherent part of the game that would allow all aircraft, ground vehicles and fleet so accurately recreated in the game, to truly shine in historical battles.
Today we are proud to announce the new start of World War mode!
World War is beginning with “Recon under Fire” - it’s the name of the first season which contains “The Battle of the Vitebsk”, “The Battle of El Alamein”, “Northwind” operations and “The Battle for Caen“. Fight for valuable awards until the 10th of June as a member of a squadron or be a lone fighter. World War is open for everyone!
War Thunder is a game about war.
A world war.
The War Thunder Team

this in 7 years is the worst reveal ever! i am sad now
I am expecting new maps coming with this mode too. We can't just play the same maps that we played for 5-6 years.
Its the same maps. They are all in different setups but its for sure the same maps.
i hope this will be simn or at least between rb and sim (1st person view only, but assisted plane controls for example). of course, no markers. But i'm questionning myself about ships, do they will fit in it or it will only be planes and tanks?
good idea add the countdown, let wait like its cristhmas and let see what you prepared for us :D i hope will be a Simulator option for this mode too after is be well introduced .
same old maps, same old player count, same old everything, disappointment
Mr. Gaijin, i don‘t feel so good...
At the end of the day it's just a game. If you like playing War Thunder then just enjoy playing something new within the game. I'm looking forward to it.
Fix the incompetent American Bofors SPAA at 6.7 Add the US Vigilante 37mm into tier IV line, 6.7 BR. This thing has no radar and is perfect at it's BR. Stop adding weird Modes
This looks very fun. Couple questions: 1. Is this an ongoing campaign that continues even when logged off? 2. What will have markers? Just planes or both planes and tanks? Hopefully just planes. 3. Am I right in assuming it'll only be historic WWII tanks? I hope so. Looking forward to this!
Please let this be historic timing for vehicles, NOT br. I am already fed up using US early war vehicles against Russian post war vehicles......
