The M.B.174A-3 and the A-35B are now available for research and purchase for all players.
The American Vultee A-35B dive bomber didn't really catch on in its homeland, but it received a warm welcome in the air force of Free France!
At the beginning of the 1930s, the American company Vultee was developing a concept for a strike aircraft capable of effectively hitting ground targets, light vehicles and enemy infantry from low altitudes. Effective actions by Germany’s Ju-87 dive bombers in Europe served as a basis for the creation of a concept for the American A-31 Vengeance, a strike dive bomber with a machine gun battery in its wings. This new addition immediately caught the attention of the British delegation, which happened to be searching for a design like the Stuka to aid in the fight against Germany. In the course of modernization, the A-31 received a new 1700 hp engine and strengthened armament of five, and then seven high-caliber Browning machine guns (six in the wings and one more for defense against attacks from the rear), and a bomb load of up to 2000 pounds. Modernized version got new designation - Vultee A-35. In spite of a large export order, the Vengeance also served in the American air force and navy, and the reviews about it were contradictory. For the war in Europe, the bomber turned out to be ill-prepared. Its low speed, large silhouette and need to descend to drop its bombs made it very vulnerable to enemy flak cannons and fighters. However, in the Pacific Theater the vehicle performed well. The Japanese had far fewer anti-aircraft defenses, and the Vengeance served as an attack aircraft, a bomber and a submarine hunter.
Nonetheless, the main operators of the A-35 were foreigners. Several squadrons in the British Air Force were equipped with these dive bombers. The aircraft was delivered to Australia and Brazil, and it served in the Free French Army in Africa.
We present the A-35B model in the French Air Force tree. In the game, this is a rank II dive bomber capable of carrying up to 2000 pounds of bombs and armed with 6 machine guns. The A-35B is slow, but it is perfectly suited for destroying small ground targets with bombs and machine guns, since aiming while diving is significantly simplified with the use of the airbrake.
The A-35B’s defenses are also reasonable for its rank. The gunner controls a high-caliber machine gun on a pivot, and with the right skills and luck, the Vengeance is fully capable of overwhelming a troublesome pursuer before losing control or burning up. Overall, this is a typical initial-rank dive bomber with its own advantages and disadvantages. For effective actions, the pilot needs situational control in the skies and on the ground, and preferably cover from allied fighters, to deliver its bombs to enemy tanks or pillboxes.
Have you had the chance to try the A-35B’in battle yet? Maybe you’ve been on the receiving end of one? Let us know about your experiences with the A-35B’ in the comments below. Until next time!

Having flown the French tech tree up to tier 4 I think that the team did well considering the complete mess that the French made of their pre-war aviation. That said the overabundance of US planes in the French tree is disgusting. The Free French flew planes from the UK, USSR, and US. When about 1/4 of a tech tree is not native built I understand the problem, but Gaijin should have spread the nations around a bit more.
I'm really getting sick and tired of fighting US planes and tanks as a primarily US player. It is getting ridiculous. Yes Lend-Lease happened, but come on, make it fair then. The Brits should get a panther then. The US should have a t-34, along with Spitfires that aren't premium. Also the Panther 2 can be in the US line, they are the ones who captured the hull afterall. It's a slippery slope once you start there, but hey, the Soviets get a captured panther, and the germans get multiple vehicles.
I welcome all the aircraft in the French tree cause they were all used, to varying degrees, by the French air force. However, I think what people are saying is that there are other aircraft, British, French, and American, that were used by the French more significantly. Hopefully they will be added soon as well.
The Amiot 354, Vought Vindicator, Breguet 690, p40, p36, and the Martin Maryland come to mind. A premium Spitfire at rank 3 would be nice too.
Can you add the P38 to the French tree? They had an ace in it. Possibly a Prem plane
Single engine single pilot attacker doesn't have cockpit modeled? Come on Gaijin!
hey Gaijin, why you went to focus on the american plane in the french service when there still is so much french plane to add. i think about the the BR.693 or any light bomber who are not carrying enough bombload to be useful in high altitude. they was tactical bomber wich is nearly an ground in the french used.
development time, CalD. They already made some Italian planes for Italy. They needed some pre-made french planes for France.
Did they not add planes to the other factions over time? I'm imagining that we will get French, as well as Italian, planes in drips and drabs for a long time to come. Something to look forward to.
What an amazing update , but still waiting for french tanks .
When France and Italy have tanks and boats, my life shall be complete. That being said, I'm loving playing what those factions got right now.
«The American Vultee A-35B dive bomber didn't really catch on in its homeland, but it received a warm welcome in the air force of Free France!» that's just a bad excuse to no add it to the US tech tree, even if they were not used in the battlefront they were still flown by several different light-bomber squadrons, the same for the P-43 lancer that was initially added in the Chinese server Chinese aviation tree but were also used by the US volunteer force and should be part of the US Aviation TT
P-43 is a US Premium.
So US is going to get some very nice things with 1.75, right?
When are we going to receive the much awaited fastback models of the P-51 and P-47 Robert Johnson leading American ace of Europe flew the P-47 D but never the bubble canopy model. And the B and C P-51's where faster than the bubble canopy D models and please throw in the Malcom hood as a available upgrade
