At Gamescom 2017 we will introduce the new major update 1.71 “New E.R.A”. The name was coined for several reasons - first, we are adding a 6th rank for tanks and invite you to test the vehicles of the Cold War and Vietnam war period. Ground vehicles in War Thunder will receive new armour types - composite and Explosive Reactive Armour. This new era in tank construction marked the switch to brand new technologies in protection against powerful HEAT rounds and missiles that could easily destroy any WW2 armour. New infantry support machines will join combat - we are ready to tell you about some of them in the next few days. Stay tuned!

But will we ever get the French TT?cause all it seems is that we will have to wait even longer :(
I wonder, does this mean all Cold War tanks will end up in this new Rank? I mean things like the T-54s, Leopards, etc. Is the Maus also going to stay in Rank V instead, alongside vehicles like the IS-3? Will the higher tier British tanks like the Chieftain be in Rank VI, or will some like the Centurion stay in IV-V due to being made around 1945? From this I'm gathering that the Maus, Tiger II, IS-3, etc. won't face ATGMs due to being made at the end of WWII. Also, any hope for the O-I later?
It would be nice to see some more 1935-1950 content added. Can we ever expect to see the B-26 Marauder? How about the B-17F, B-24J, or razorback P-47? Or the later models of Halifax? And if they're going to add tanks with ERA armor, then why can't we have the B-36 Peacemaker and Tu-95 Bear at higher tiers?

To do that they are going to have to address the BR compression. I really hope they go to a 1-10 BR, but I'll believe that when I see it.
