How your entries will be assessed:
- Accuracy and similarity to the reference model - each bend and curve are important.
- The final look of the model - a model, driving through trenches or across terrain is better than just a picture on the table.
- Details - this may be a soldier on the hull, or unusual environment - use your imagination.
- The contest is open - anyone can take part
- 1 participant - 1 model. 1 author can not submit more than one work. Models made by a group of people will not be accepted either.
- The model should be created without significant changes from the original reference model, minor changes such as hand-rails or lamps etc are permitted. However this will not greatly affect the judge's decision
- Models placed on dioramas/landscapes etc. are permitted. However this will not greatly affect the judge's decision
- Models are judged by their photos, so please try to take good quality pictures. The minimum resolution is 1024 pixels (any side), maximum size is not limited (if reasonable). There should be 3 photos minimum of the assembly process (e.g. tank without chassis or hatches), 2 pictures of the final result with one of the pictures having a slip of paper with the distinctive nickname of the player displayed.
- No photo post-processing - only cutting and colour correction are permitted. If in doubt, the Jury may require the original pictures of a model or ask to create a new picture.
Work publication:
Publish your report about the model creation and the final result on your FB page with a #thunder_paper hashtag (it may be over several posts), also add your nickname to the post.
Entries will be accepted until the 10th of July. The results will be published separately within 2 weeks after the contest ends.
But even without these improvements you will still have a chance to win! Don’t come unstuck - Enter now!

the model my bro has its really powerful
the paper Tiger II H Sla.16 is really hard to build but its worth it
Damn.... I actually do table top wargaming and professional painting. I just don't have the time to do this. I prefer plastic and wooden models anyway.
How much Artistic liberties are we allowed to perform? For example, Can we change the camo or layout of certain parts? Can I make this this as if it were damaged, destroyed, etc?
I want to make an imprint for the treads and use bike tubes (is quicker). It is also easier to make a mold for the wheels and paint them.,These are standard issues that are addressed in a model comp rules.
Lol I dont even have the glue for this. What glue do I need to use to even start this project?
I'm guessing paper glue.
Unrelated to this post, When can we expect a summer event to begin?
only if the pack was is-6 )))
Thank you for this wonderful model project. Any issues with professional art backgrounds and the use of photoshop for finals. For background are there limits to materials or purely virtual imagery. With paper models I many times use non-paper materials as substitutes because they may be easier and look better. Is this paper only or is their a % deviation. The guidelines mention adding extra materials in, is this true for fillers and painting cut lines. These R std model comp guidelines. Thnx.
honestly the barrel and the muzzle break seem to be the hardest to form with paper or cardboard, i would go for making a wax model, but im not sure if thats allowed or not, the barrel has to be on point so maybe use wax there as well.as for managing to make the barrel from paper same for the muzzle break, i find the surgical precision of gluing on the texture paper on it without having the ends peel off would be more than frustrating.
O_Kole, If you can do it and not have it documented or visibly obvious they have not made statements on how it will be judged or verified. Most competitions have rulesets that make sure that folks who have experience do not compete against the folks doing it for fun. I would like to know where the line is here before I do what I think will make the coolest model.
Objective: Make Tiger II Brain: Make Ho-Ro
Great, another paper tank....
