The event, which we started for the 1st of April has come to an end, but our work on War Thunder continues.
We thank you for your feedback, it was very nice to read them!
This testing was successful in the first place because many of the mechanics in War Thunder have already been implemented before: X-Ray view, ATGMs, different types of shells, their distribution in the vehicle etc. War Thunder was ready for modern vehicles. New mechanics, which were implemented specially for the event will be tested for main game modes in War Thunder.
Implementation of such a mission was only possible with support, which you give us every day. Thanks to all the hundreds and thousands of people that helped us to test IXth rank. It was an absolute record among all of our 1st of April events by the number of players alone.

The Beginning of the end for WoT
I'm done with WoT permanently. I was a closed beta tester there but now I got the big middle finger when they put in the prem shop the M6A2E1 which supposted to never ever be on sale according to wg ceo. I'm glad I'm back again in WT after getting used to the gameplay again it is so much fun especially when playing with friends.
Don't forget that Armoured Warfare is also done for lol

Very well done, I hope that Modern Vehicles will not share the same maps as the WW2 era, or the immersion and feel will be ruined

Actually it would be quite awesome if they modernized the existing maps for cold war era tank battles. with new streets and houses, skyscrapers etc.

AIM-9, AToll, A-4 Skyhawk, Some of us don't like tanks, tanks, tanks. It's also just wrong to have to play a tank before you can support your team with a plane. More flexibility in vehicle choice and mission choice. Also more useable maps in random battles in RB. Choppers? Yeah they would be fun but don't try to make players play a tank first.
yes but, when you choose to use tank but you want join first with an airplane its more worse than force player to use first the tank and only then get the airplane if got enought point befor be destroyed or leaving the tank, this is becouse if you want play tank with airplane its not fair for the ppl that join tank for play with tank. everyone will end to play airplanes on tank mode ... and there is an option yet, play airplane vs airplane directly ...
HitPirate, and even then if its reasonable the way to get enough point before jump into the planes, its still unfair play airplanes in a tank battle mode ... dont ruin tank battle just becouse you like destroy tank with airplane ( or even with hellcopter now)

Modern vehicles! Can we see MiG-21's and F-4 Phantoms duel to the death with IR and SARH missiles? That would be amazing!
According to their post we will see fighters as recent as SU PAK FA (T-50) and F22 Raptor :) heatseekers were also available in the testing if you werent aware :3 u had to lock with middle mouse onto your target then hold the lock while the missile flies to the enemy choppper
The modern combat event was pure perfection. Its the most fun i had with playing this game in 4 years. The guys that made that event should be given a medal.
