Dear players,
Japanese ground forces testing is running and today we are unlocking Japanese ground vehicles of rank 3, they are now available for research and purchase, we also introduce a new Japanese premium tank, the Chi-Nu II with a Type 5 cannon.
Unlocking vehicles of rank 3 means that players may now join Simulator battles. Line-ups for combined battles have been updated. Japanese ground vehicles will become available in Squadron battles after the test is over.
Also, today is the last day when you can gain shuriken to unlock full access to Japanese ground vehicles testing! You can still join the test after today by purchasing one of the packs with premium vehicles: CHI-HA 12cm Advanced or Heavy Tank №6 Advanced Pack
Good luck on the battlefield!

gaijin please fix the mountain of mistakes on the current Japanese tanks before adding more broken stuff
If you believe there are issues, then please fill in a bug report on it.
Will there be a rank 4 premium for this tree, a tank different than the one in the tech tree ?
It's too early to say anything about that.
Probabl an STA version is my guess.
I have doubts about its BR in RB: 4.3. It's like a PZ4 while it is a bigger target, have less armor, turret is slower... I bet it'll just be cannon fodder for hordes of T34 and KV1s, but I hope i'm wrong! :) Lets see !
And again wrong!!! Type 3 Chi-Nu II - Mantlet in real - 75 mm, in game - 50 mm. Cheeks - in real - 35 mm, in game - 25 mm. Weight in real - 22,6 tons, in game - 20.0 tons. Why???
Wrong? So prove it wrong with properly documented bug report please. Saying random numbers in comment will change nothing.
all sources report 50mm frontal and 25mm side... so, what's wrong?
What GENIUS put Type-74 into SB lower Tier 5 lineup??? Wanna let wallet warriors to club around for a while?
Any one know if japanese tanks are worth it cus the only one i hear is worth it is the tiger. Is this tank worth the money?
after playing through all the ww2 era Japanese tanks only the chi to rely seemed worth grinding
I found the Japanese tanks to be quite fun to play. Starting out, the I-Go-Ko and Chi-Ha aren't great, but the light tanks are small and fast, great for flanking and ambush. The Chi-Ha-Kai is where Japan gets properly fun: its 47mm is a good gun, with a great rate of fire, and at its BR (2.0) the tank is up there with the best. Most later tanks are even better, with good guns; this tank's typical for T2/3 Japan. Don't bother buying the Chi-Ha 120mm, though -- it only has HE so can't kill T-34s.
I've bought the tank, but I do have to question its current BR. In RB, this tank has BR 4.3, the same as the non-premium Chi-To, which has the same turret and gun (with 25mm thicker armour on the turret front), nearly the same turret rotation, more hull armour, is 6 km/h faster and has the same visibility and reload rate. I'm not sure why you'd assign it the same BR as the Chi-To when the Chi-Nu II is inferior in many respects and superior in none. I'd suggest a slight drop in BR to 4.0.
there are almost no tanks for Japanese and you decide to make one that should be in the standard tree a premium, shame on you gaijin.
Well, the Chi-Nu II was just a prototype. They put the Chi-To's turret on a Chi-Nu hull, designating the resulting tank the Chi-Nu II, and used it to test the turret prior to production of the Chi-To, which the turret was designed for. They never intended to mass-produce the tank, it was simply a one-off vehicle for testing, so I can certainly understand why this is a premium. That said, I would have been very happy to see this tank in the standard tree, which at the minute is pretty bare-bones.
meh
TERRIBLE br, this should be at tier II, or have the historical front armor
