Have you ever considered how the virtual instructor influences your aircraft? Perhaps keen to learn more about the control methods available to you in War Thunder?
The aircraft Instructor is the unsung hero of many War Thunder battles. This virtual companion is with you on each and every combat sortie and translates the commands you input from your mouse, keyboard, controller or joystick in realtime to the control methods of your aircraft.
Learning the abilities, limitations and options the instructor offers as well as how to make the most out of your chosen control method can often be the difference between a swift return to the hanger and climbing the ranks to fly with the best. Pilots transitioning, perhaps from Arcade Battles to Realistic, especially will want to make the most out of the options available to them, that give them the ability to get the best performance out of their aircraft, no matter their control method.
Even Tank Commanders can benefit, as all ground forces vehicles have their own unique version of the instructor that helps keep the vehicle on the right track to victory!

Newbies should know that they need to disable instructor for air vehicles domination matches. It keeps players from touching down safely at high speeds (up to about 500 kph), and thus keeps them from being good at neutralising or capturing airfield in presence of red fighters. It's one of the things you get told early on when you join a decent squadron. https://wttactics.blogspot.de/2016/03/kick-instructor-out.html
Good info to know. Thank you for posting the link! I've had the game for near 3 1/2 years now, but I usually focus on defending friendly airfields instead of taking enemy ones. Now, I can effectively do either.
A decent active squadron is hard to find as most members are no longer active. Pity it costs a lot to start one as we need new active squadrons.
Wow so you guys are starting a series of news on gameplay mechanism! That's really cool!
Our wiki contains lot of very useful and in-depth information about the game. I highly recommend to browse it.
This feature is optional right?
You can't turn off the instructor entirely but you can turn off 4 parts of it.
Depends on specific mode.
Hanger???
This feature is optional right?
oops...accidentally duplicated...
coolcaleb519, yes, in the setting you can turn it off i think.
I laugh when people think that you can disable instructor and continue using mouse aim... seriously, people, just read about it =) And if you don't want instructor completely, then switch to full-real controls.
people use mouse in FRB as well.
Turned it off ages ago prevents me from pulling certain moves but an overall good tool for anyone I think
Hopefully the Brigands Instructor will improve in AB, he tends to use way too much Pitch, so the Aircraft is very hard to turn properly.. (pe-8 has the same problem in AB)
Now turn it off entirely so there's actual competitiveness between turnfighters and energy fighters.
There is lots of information on this game and not all that easy to find but this is good to read. Also I advise players to watch (War thunder video guides for beginners) its done by a level 100 player and the information given is well worth learning. Its improved my game. It gives you valuable information on vehicles, weapons and tactics. Great game guys.
