Pilots and Tankers,
we now have new offers for you in the updated “Warbonds” shop. The beginning of the new month will bring you access to new premium vehicles which will be available for the completion of battle tasks.
In order to receive them, just complete daily Battle tasks in War Thunder battles and earn a special currency - “Warbonds”, which can be used to purchase vehicles previously only obtainable with Golden Eagles!
Two of the five available vehicles:
What is a Churchill? It’s a kind of slow, big, well-armoured tank with a pretty good turret. One word - epic. It perfectly describes the majority of German heavy tanks and therefore has earned the right to be amongst them. Apparently, this is what the Germans believed when starting to use this captured vehicle. But it is already familiar to us as the British Churchill, which once sent fear to all fans of German vehicles, it can effortlessly shrug of an enemy's attack against its frontal armour. Now just imagine how this armour will frustrate the Soviet forces. This is the German captured Churchill!
Very fast and unexpectedly maneuverable at the same time. Being premium it will not only bring you more Silver Lions and RP but will also prove deadly against enemy aircraft with its six 50 cal. Browning MGs.
You can get these machines just by playing! |
The current war bonds will not be removed immediately at this time, you will still be able to use them only until the 7th of December for the purchase of some goods in the war bond shop.
5 different premium vehicles from different nations and other items will be available in the “Warbonds” shop this month:
Battle tasks - these individual tasks bring variety into the game and prevent situations when all the players in a battle try to complete one specific task ignoring mission objectives needed for a victory. They are available for players that have reached the 3rd rank of any nation. For completion, the player will receive Silver Lions and Warbonds , a special in-game currency with their own shop where you can purchase a lot of different items.
You can read more about battle tasks and war bonds in our devblog.

I don't even bother with war bonds anymore. If you could save up each color so the next time they came around you still had what you earned I'd care... But as it stands they might as well not even be a game mechanic for me.
That is the only realistic way for warbonds to actually work. If you could save them up over time you may actually be able to get something worth wasting your time meeting certain often pointless metrics. Oh well.
Jebadias, You do save warbonds over time, you get a whole month to do it, in total you can get about 4200 warbonds, well over enough for a premium from it. It took me 21 days of around 2-3 hours of playtime each day to get the M8A1 that they just had. 140 warbonds per day.
Want the Decal
I want the Churchill mainly because of the early balkankreuz decal, for my tier I-II panzers.
Thank you for warbonds, I like them quite a lot. It's something I'm looking forward to every month.
Would that killed you, if you give us a prices in news too ? I suppose it wouldn't, so I guess you do it on purpose.
?
J_Alisson, Prices. Number of warbonds needed to get particular vehicle. So you don't need to wait until tomorrow.
could you add some prizes which are actually humanly possible in the future? maybe a small decal or something. not everyone has 24/7 to play this game. (no the stupid boosters and test drives don't count)
I feel I play this game a lot considering that I have a job and a life. I have still never been able to afford anything but a booster. I don't even bother to pay attention to warbonds anymore.
Test drives are the dumbest thing ever. Really pisses me off when you get them from your daily. Here have a 1h test drive for a vehicle you don't want, can't control when the timer starts, and you still have to play 5-600k SL to put it in a crew and expert. And when the timers done, you don't even get your money back so its completely wasted unless you buy the vehicle. I think orders are mostly useless but I still would prefer them over a test drive.
Warbonds expire before a month is up so you'd haft to be a pretty addicted player go about getting a premium vehicle that way (not many to choose from IMO). Its actually easier to use some of those 100s of hours you'd be committing on getting warbonds to just go do some casual work for someone and buy the damn things.... ;) (it would be less of a issue if the warbonds laster longer...)
it takes around 40-50 hours in a month to do it I have calculated (Took me around 2-3 hours each day), that is way off of 100's of hours.
RedTipAlpha, Congratulations, it took me about double of that time + Golden Eagles for doable Battle Tasks.
Why there are no daily tanks for Simulator?
As a sim player I feel offended by not having the same chance to get warbonds...
My goal in October was 4900 for 2 planes, but I managed 4860. My goal in November was a vehicle + decal. Needed at least 4000 for that, but I managed only 3990 due to being offline every weekend... That's at least 2300 war bonds won for nothing ): unLucky Streak. It's Toasted. This month I am getting that royal beauty for sure. Perhaps the F4U-1a too. The only other vehicle that I lack is the Churchill, but It has the second highest price ever and I don't play tanks anyway.
Sad to read that you missed some tasks :( I hope that you will be able to achieve everything in this month!
Epic is not the word I'd use to describe the British Churchill which is in this game, although not in historical fact, and can be knocked out from the front with a machine gun due to some dodgy programming. So much for feared frontal armour!
