“Better than honor and glory, and History’s iron pen, was the thought of duty done and the love of his fellow men.” — Richard Watson Gilde
November 11th is a day that is celebrated worldwide by both the military communities and the people for which they once protected. Originally celebrated to commemorate the close of WWI in Great Britain. The first Armistice Day celebration was held at Buckingham Palace on November 11th, 1919 with King George V raising a toast to veterans and hosting a banquet in honor of the French President.
Since this day, many countries around the world have observed this date as associated with honoring their veterans of all wars in their own way. For example, in the United States, Armistice Day was converted to Veterans Day in the 1950’s by President Eisenhower as a way to honor those that had served and died as well as those living. Some countries like the U.K. have official ceremonies for both Armistice Day as well as Remembrance Day on the following Sunday.
Veterans across the world exemplify the ideals that every society holds - Honor, Integrity, and Courage and it is their undying sense of sacrifice that inspires the young and old among us to be better. From the Field of Flanders, the frozen streets of Stalingrad, and the Jungles of Vietnam. We here at War Thunder would like to say a sincere thank you to the Men and Women around the World who give and have given every day so much for so many.

Lest we forget. Evil rules when good people do nothing
Lest we forget. we will remember them
Veterans may be slower than a speeding bullet. They may be less powerful than a locomotive. As well as being unable to scale tall buildings in a single leap. And yet, each and every one of them is a super hero.
"There's so many stories where some brave hero decides to give their life to save the day, and because of their sacrifice, the good guys win, the survivors all cheer, and everybody lives happily ever after. But the hero... never gets to see that ending. They'll never know if the day was really saved. In the end... they just have to have faith. Ain't that a bitch?" -Church from Red vs. Blue
Lest We Forget
No matter from what Nation you served for, for each felt they were fighting for their country, ideals, and families, thank you for your service to protect yours! Now oddly enough, this is also the birthday of my idol, General George S Patton! Happy Birthday Georgie, give'em hell, sir!
My grandfather used to serve in World War 2 during Malayan Campaign. I'm so proud to be his grandson
"lest we forget"
More than 15 millions dies. Majority are civilian. Half die in France. Just a line about this and the initiative of "Foch" would be good to say.
To all my fellow vets no matter what country you are from: We few, we happy few, we band of brothers; For he to-day that sheds his blood with me Shall be my brother; be he ne'er so vile, This day shall gentle his condition; And gentlemen in England now a-bed Shall think themselves accurs'd they were not here, And hold their manhoods cheap whiles any speaks That fought with us upon Saint Crispin's day.
