We’re pleased to introduce another Legend of Victory event! Tank #445 bearing the inscription “Suvorov” was part of the 508th Separate Flamethrower Tank Battalion. Get this tank, its inscriptions as decals, and the FOG-2 flamethrower as a decoration in a new event commemorating the anniversary of the Allied Victory!
, earn mission points in Ground Battles, unlock stages and receive rewards!
Development of a flamethrower variant of the KV heavy tank began in 1941. Initially, the flamethrower was intended to be mounted in the hull. However, a twin turret mount was later developed to house a cannon, flamethrower, and machine gun. In January 1942, the KV-8 tank passed trials and entered serial production; by the end of the year, over 100 vehicles had been built. In War Thunder, the new KV-8 is premium heavy tank with a flamethrower and a rapid-fire 45 mm cannon. The tank’s main advantage will be its high level of protection, ensuring good survivability under fire from guns of various calibers. This is especially important for a tank designed for close combat, as the flamethrower and relatively weak 45 mm cannon require close combat to be effective.
Among the rewards in the event is also this chest. When opened, there is a chance to receive one of the following items:
- 50,000 - 100,000 Silver Lions
- Silver Lion and Research Point boosters
- Random Wagers and Orders
- Universal Backups (1 - 3)
- A random camouflage for a vehicle you own
- 1 day of Premium Account
How to get all rewards
Each stage can be completed for 30,000 mission points, where every new stage obtained will give you a new reward.
Please note: After finishing a stage, you need to collect the reward manually. To do this, click on your name in-game, go to “Legend of Victory: KV-8” and click the “Get Reward” button.
You’re able to earn mission points in Ground Battles at Rank III or above in Arcade, Realistic and Simulator Battles. The number of mission points to complete a stage depends on the game mode and the maximum Rank of the vehicle that you use in battle. There’s a multiplier for earning mission points, which is shown in the task description in-game.
You can also earn mission points by using event vehicles that are Rank I and II. Event vehicles that can be used have the name of the event that they were obtainable in on their stat card.
Rewards are given when you complete a specific number of stages
- For 1 Stage: trophy with a random reward
- For 2 Stages: one of the decal rewards
- For 3 Stages: trophy with a random reward
- For 4 Stages: one of the decal rewards
- For 5 Stages: “FOG-2” tank decoration
- For 6 Stages: non-tradable coupon for the KV-8
Discounts for purchasing stages using Golden Eagles
Unfinished stages can be purchased for Golden Eagles, but if you’re significantly close to completing a stage, its price will be significantly reduced as well.
Let’s say you have earned 85% of the required mission points to complete a stage, then the price of purchasing this stage will be halved. If you’re near the finish line for a stage and are at 95% progress, then the price will be reduced by five times. For example, if you’ve scored , then the price for unlocking this stage will be . If you’ve scored , then you’ll only need . Keep this in mind if you’re not able to complete a stage in time!
The Upgrade for a coupon
When you complete 6 stages, you’ll receive a non-tradable coupon for the KV-8, where using it will immediately activate the vehicle onto your account. If you don’t want the vehicle and would like to sell the coupon on the Market, you’ll need the “Upgrade for coupon” item.
The “Upgrade for coupon” item can be earned in parallel with the stages throughout the event for 500,000 mission points.
After receiving the “Upgrade for coupon” item, you can convert a non-tradable coupon for the vehicle into a tradable one and sell it on the Market. The tradable coupon can be sold after 6 days from the moment it’s created.
To make a tradable coupon, select the “Coupon KV-8” (USSR)” in your inventory and click the “Modify” button.
The “Upgrade for coupon” item is valid . Until this time, you can use it or exchange it for War Bonds. Afterwards, it’ll disappear from your inventory.
Tracking your progress
You can track the progress of the stages and the “Upgrade for coupon” item by clicking on your Nickname > Achievements > Legend of Victory: KV-8. If you don’t manage to complete a stage in time or would like to purchase a stage, you can purchase each stage with Golden Eagles until May 22nd from the Achievements window, which will give you the corresponding rewards.

Comments will be premoderatedHi, I skimmed the Blog, but could someone tell me what makes the KV-8 different from the KV-1 besides the flamethrower?
why 45mm
you dont know how glad i am to not have to grind for a whopping 45,000 mission points. 30,000 points is SO MUCH MORE MANAGEABLE.
Another Russian tank. Aint nobody else getting anything anymore.
May event traditionally has Soviet vehicles, D-day traditionally has Allied vehicles, so no big whoop or surprise here. But to your general point - "Aint nobody else getting anything anymore." Just this month China got Lion of Peshawar: F-6C event and Israel getting Greek subtree starting with Battle Pass event Greek Spitfire LF Mk IXc. So what exactly are you whining about?
Great vehicle, my only objection is Rank II, it really should be Rank III, so we can grind daily events with it. Unless, KV-8 will have event description in stat card, which is not clear from announcement here.
i think the only event vehicles that didnt have the event flag were the ww1 ones i dont think theres any reason to believe the kv8 wont have it, seeing as its a regular score event.
How is the vehicle unlocked? Through an event? Perhaps? I think it’s quite clear…
wasn't the last event tank Russian/Soviet?
next, we need the kv-6 (:
this sounds impossible to balance. atleast it will be a fun ww2 vehicle, gotta grind it
What br the is this?
I know this event vehicle hasn't released yet but it would be crazy to see the uss missouri as the event vehicle after this
