For quite some time, piston-engined aircraft ruled the skies. By the end of WW2, though, it was clear that piston engines were quickly becoming obsolete, and that there was a new class of apex predators emerging into the wide blue yonder — the jet powered fighter aircraft.

Today we’re going to talk about the best single-engine piston fighters that their era was able to produce, hailing from many different countries and sitting at different BRs, from 6.0 and up to 6.7.
