The Mustang Family
Attention! Outdated news format. Content may not display correctly.
The story of the Mustang family started in 1940. That’s when the British Purchasing Commission approached North American Aviation to build Curtiss P-40 fighters under license. But North American Aviation came with a counter proposal: to develop a completely new aircraft for the RAF… within four months.
The plan wasn’t without risks, but the Commission decided to take it… and won big time. The British had a habit of giving aircraft proper names; this one is now known as the Mustang.

When will Gaijin add Mustang Mk. I with 4x .303 Browning Machine guns, 500rpg, and 4x .50 Machin guns, 400rpg. It has been in the files/CDK for years. https://forum.warthunder.com/index.php?/topic/383690-north-american-mustang-mk-i-british-tech-tree/ There are so many vehicles in the files that should have been added a long time ago. If they are to similar to already existing vehicles. Then just put them in a folder.
And a premium Mustang Mk III would be nice: https://i.pinimg.com/originals/49/b1/df/49b1dff29df333a5919aeff5a9e1998c.jpg
ThaisS, Isn't that the M.B.5?
It doesn't make a whole lot of sense that there are four essentially copypasta'd P-51Ds with very similar—even identical—stats/flightmodels/physical models, when there is a totally ignored variant, the P-51B/C/Mk. III. And with thousands built, they shouldn't be premiums.
And STILL NO P-51B/C model in the game... Why Gaijin? You added a bazillion I-16s, and Spifires.
Any chance the P51-A will ever be made available again? I missed my chance to get it back in the TL days. :(
Another insubstantial report...more feathers than chicken.
WHEN WILL GAIJIN FIX THAT MIGHTY MUSTANG`S SHITTY RUDDER?
So if I understood correctly P-51D and P-51K are identical except propeller blades. No reason to have different BR
No, it's only a matter of whether they were manufactured in Inglewood or Dallas. Otherwise, there is no differences whatsoever between D and K models. The propeller change on certain P-51Ks was due to part shortages and had nothing to do with the model itself, it only happened to be that way. Most of those were later refitted with Hamilton Standards anyway.
Nice but what would have made the vid epic is the showcase of the marketplace Mustang skins!!!
Would love to see Gaijin release a 18-pack of skins once a month for a specific type. This month the P-51D-10, next month the Bf-109 E, etc. We skinners would need to cop a paycut per unit, but if it's between less skins that pay more, and more skins that pay less, I'd take the more skins personally.

Very nice vid but i'd say it was a missed opportunity to showcase the marketplace P-51 skins!!!
