The auction is a new way to distribute player-created content. In addition to trophies, we’ll now select a few more pieces of work from those not included in them and release them to the auction in limited edition.
How does the auction work?
Trading is carried out using a special currency called Gaijin Coin, the same currency already used on the Gaijin Marketplace.
“Lots” with a minimum bid are put up for auction, which will open for bids at a set time and date. Bidding lasts for a certain amount of time so that everyone who wants to can make their bids.
There is a starting price for each item, so to make a bid you’ll need at least that amount of GJN on your account. The amount you bid is frozen until the end of the bidding or until you make a new bid. Be careful, as you cannot cancel the bid. If you win, you receive the item and the amount is debited from your account, otherwise the amount you bid is returned to your account.
If you’re outbid, (or in the case of multi-item auctions, if your bid is no longer high enough to win the item), you’ll receive a notification about this. At the end of the auction, you’ll also receive a notification of the auction result.
An auction may contain several identical items in the form of many lots — one item per lot. If this happens, they’ll be received by the players who made the highest bids, and the number of winners will be equal to the number of auction lots. For example, if there are 1,000 participants in an auction for 100 lots, the item will be received by 100 players who had the highest bids at the end of the auction.
If players with the same bid compete for the remaining item, then the first bidder will have the advantage since they bid first. One player can only buy one lot from an auction.
In the auction interface, you’ll see the values of the current leading bids.
Auction Rules
- After the auction ends, items that are not declared as coupons will be automatically activated on your account. Camouflage coupons will be added to your inventory.
- Players who purchased camouflage coupons will not be able to sell them on the Market immediately, but after at least 180 days.
- Items that are put up for auction cannot appear there again for a year.
Testing the Auction
To test out the new auction system, we’re offering the first lots dedicated to the Lunar New Year:
- Quantity: 100 pieces
- Starting price: 0.50 GJN
- Bid Increment: 0.50 GJN
- Quantity: 100 pieces
- Starting price: 1 GJN
- Bid Increment: 1 GJN
Possible to sell on the Market from August 11th 2025.
Bids on these lots will be accepted until February 10th (15:30 GMT).
Players who purchase at least one of these lots will also receive the “Inverted Jenny” decal. This is a 1918 U.S. postage stamp, where the Curtiss JN-4 airplane was mistakenly depicted upside down. This stamp has become especially rare and valuable among philatelists.
Thank you for participating in the Auction testing!
Since this Auction was experimental, we decided to end it using a single-price system. This means that all winners paid the same price equal to the lowest possible bid at the end of the Auction (during the Auction, this was displayed on the red “Make a bid” button; it’s the sum of the lowest winning bid and the bid increment). The remaining amounts of each participant’s bid has been unfrozen on their accounts.

1/2 We released the Auction with the intention of making it an experimental feature, aimed to support community content creators. The items that will be offered for sale will be made by content creators and the authors of these items will get a percentage from the total sales as a reward.
2/2 We may add other cosmetic items besides the ones currently available during the Auction testing period. The purpose of the Auction is to provide an opportunity to purchase cosmetic items of interest without having to rely on luck, as well as to give authors the opportunity to receive a reward that corresponds to the demand for the items they create.
Suggestion: Give the skin creator an automatically activated copy of the skin so the creator doesn't have to participate in the bidding war! ❤️
Please Gaijin, I love this game, and what you have done with developing it. But this is the worst idea I have ever seen in gaming. Please shut down this idea. We beg you.
We really did not need this, nor did anyone ask for this, all this is, is FOMO, insane.
Ok - in some point it's a good idea BUT only camouflage and decorations for REAL MONEY because gajin coins it's real money. If you start selling vehicles for gj then it's veeeery bad idea. Auctions where you can use GE or SL will be very good way.
I rather buy directly at Gaijin store.
Hope the creators get a decent cut.
Of course they will get their share :)
Stona_WT, Given the legal contribution agreement hasn't been updated to reflect the auction yet, what additional details can you give us around this?
Ok with the introduction of an auction do we have any news for us players whom have been playing on pc for awhile now just waiting for console to pc account transfers to resume so that we can get access to stuff like this?
Sorry, right now the process is suspended. When we will be ready to open it again, we will inform you. Please follow this thread: https://forum.warthunder.com/t/transfer-of-console-created-accounts-now-available-suspended/69833/
"Items that are put up for auction cannot appear there again for a year." what does this mean exactly?
For example: if we will put player created camo on auction, you are sure that for the next 12 months it will not pop-up in, for example Camo Trophy (or in any other way).
This is ok, I guess. Personally, I'd much rather have an option to gift to people who use different currencies than me if focus is going to be spent on marketplace functions...
I want to bid for Ersatz M10.
