In the 1980s, the outdated Chieftain MBT was superseded in the British Army by the more modern Challenger. Despite the fact that the new tank was based on its slower predecessor, they don’t really share a lot of traits. The Challenger was considerably more mobile thanks to its powerful engine and an improved transmission – not to mention that its composite armor arrangement was more suited to the challenges of the modern era. The new MBT became the main tank that the British Armed forces used at the end of the century. In War Thunder, the vehicle proudly sits at the very top of the sixth rank in the ground vehicles part of the British tech tree.

Comments will be premoderatedHahaha! In game it's opposite- chally is one of the slowest tanks and has badly modeled chobham armour!
oh that's so silly "The TES is even more well armored" knowing full well that it is functionally useless. How about you actually make the extra 7 tons worthwhile and make the ERA not have the exact same protection as the previous models which are less than half as thick.
The survivability of all Challengers is almost the same as light tanks. One hit to the armor under the turret and you go to the hangar. Interestingly, when you shoot at Russian MBT tanks, you need at least 3 shots to the same place. As a result, the Challenger is not a Tracked Fortress. I’m ruining your myth in your own game.
can we talk about why it has no armour on its gun mantlet for a tank whos very design was based around hull down gameplay, hence such thick armour on its turret cheeks.... do you really believe a tank would have such a huge weakspot in the centre of its most exposed part?
I should be a fortress yes, if they added the real life armor to its gun mantlet.
Great Video got one small Question about Esports Events Why are they not posted on website they just held one 3 days ago but was no info on it on website. Hope you guys are not just posting things on social media Twitter or Facebook when you have a main webpage for the game itself and people check here for all news
"Tracked Fortress" that's a BIG LOL
It's a shame that GJN models the heavy weight of the Challenger armour but doesn't model the protection. In real life it has the best survivability of any MBT.
