Yak-38: The Soviet Dream

In 1967,Great Britain started producing the Hawker Siddeley Harrier, a ground attack aircraft with VTOL capabilities. The Royal Air Force received a unique combat vehicle that could be quickly deployed abroad, and for a decade the Harrier was the only jump jet in the world – that is, until the Soviets introduced the Yak-38 in 1977.
