The Finnish Air Force was founded on the 6th of March, 1918, soon after the country declared its independence from the Russian Empire. Its first planes were simply left behind by Russian forces. But the Finns didn’t have their own pilots, so in the beginning they had to rely on unofficial help from Swedes, Danes, and Russians.
The Finnish Air Force was rather successful in fighting off Soviet aircraft during the Winter War, and in WWII refrained from bombing civilian targets. After the peace treaty with the USSR was signed, Finnish pilots kept fighting in the skies against their past allies from the Luftwaffe.
Today the Finnish Air Force consists of several dozen of American F/A-18 Hornets.
From March 6th (11:00 GMT) until March 9th (7:00 GMT), play 3 battles using Swedish aircraft (rank III or higher, with an activity of not less than 70%) to receive the “Emblem of the Karelia Air Command” decal.
Complete the task in random battles, except for Enduring Confrontation missions and [Assault] mode. Track your progress in the hangar by clicking Nickname → Achievements → Holidays → Finnish Air Force Day.
You can find the decal in the “Holidays” tab in the Customisation menu.

Very nice decal, hope to see some more in the future for other smaller nations! (although I understand that some nations aren't even in game yet, so decals from them may be unlikely)

Wonderful!
Wow, that's one gorgeous wallpaper! :O
There were German pilots and officers as well Gaijin. 20% of the Finnish Air Force was provided by Imperial/Weimar Germany.
Me explaining to the snail why instead of this we need the O-I in the game to make Japan more fun and playable for events (they have no TT heavy tanks for challanges and shit) This is very discriminatory not having the O-I in the game.
you want a tank that so heavy that it will more than likely face tiger 2s and have a gun with about the same pen as a Sherman 75
"""Today the Finnish Air Force consists of several dozen of American F/A-18 Hornets."" hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm
The way they randomly threw this in. "Today the Finnish Air Force consists of several dozen of American F/A-18 Hornets." I hope its soon, just because I love the F/A-18, but for christ sake please don't only give it to Sweden, because that's kind of what it sounds like!
