Grumman Aircraft
There are precious few aircraft designers that started their career by making biplanes and finished it making supersonic jets… but there are even fewer engineers that got their foot in the door by designing naval biplanes and made it to supersonic carrier-based fighter jets. Spoiler: there’s only one such engineer, and his name was Leroy Grumman.

Comments will be premoderatedNice presentation on Leroy Grumman's 'birds. All these planes shown are icons. Also for those who believe that there isn't any room enough for at least a couple more, take note: The Grumman family is never complete...until the S-2 Tracker, S-3 Viking, E-2 Hawkeye, XF-10 Jaguar & the A-6 'Intruder' & EA-6 'Prowler' join the game. There's more than enough room for all of those in the US Navy's sub-section...especially when one thinks of Leroy Grumman. Hats off to him, from me.
Excellent! Grumman's aircraft are the stuff of legends. Is there any chance we could get the A-6E Intruder, F6F-3 Hellcat, and F11F-1 Tiger (early) in the near future, Gaijin?
Aircraft I missed in video were the F-111 Aardvark, and my personal favorite, the A-6 Intruder. Carrier based ground pounding doesnt get any better.
nice
