World War II proved air superiority to be crucial, so on September 18th, 1947 US Air Force became a separate branch of the country’s armed forces. Today it’s the largest air force in the world with more than 320 000 troops, 5 000 aircraft and 400 ICBMs.
From September 16th (13:00 GMT) until September 19th (7:00 GMT), play 3 battles using American aircraft (rank III or higher, with an activity of not less than 70%) to receive the “Lieutenant America” decal.
Complete the task in random battles, except for Enduring Confrontation missions and [Assault] mode. Track your progress in the hangar by clicking Nickname → Achievements → Holidays → US Air Force Birthday.
You can find the decal in the “Holidays” tab in the Customisation menu.
During the event two premium aircraft from the US research tree — George Bostwick's P-47M-1-RE and Raymond Wetmore's P-51D-10 — will be made available for purchase for Golden Eagles.

Comments will be premoderatedHappy Birthday USAF. Can't wait to see NGAD and the B21.
Cant wait for the AGM-88 HARM
Alright then I'll warm up the Phantom
I mean I like these, but where was Russian NAVY day?
Really glad to see the USAF being celebrated, though I did notice that 2 of the 3 planes show in the announcement picture were only used by the US Navy. Still wonderful to see the recognition, thank you Gaijin.
OK..... So you put two NAVY planesw in the fly by for the USAF birthday....
Not to nit-pick but 2 ofthe3planes in the banner for this, F2A Buffalo and F9F Cougar, are both US Navy planes, neither one ever served in the USAF or its predacessor.
uh glad to see the army and navy celebrating the us airforce in that picture lol
