New location for mixed battles amongst the sandstone cliffs of the great Sahara desert.
In the upcoming Red Skies update we are presenting a new location for War Thunder mixed battles that we are calling "Red Desert". This is a sandstone plateau surrounded by the dunes of a great desert. A small river sources here to quickly dry up under the hot African sun. The life-giving moisture, however, is sufficient for several palm groves and majestic acacias. A small village is located In the centre of the oasis- a couple of dozen houses and a mosque.
This location was inspired from the views of North and Central Africa, and especially the Ennedi Plateau in Chad, formed from sandstone cliffs in the Sahara desert.
The “Red Desert” location will appear in the game with the release of the major update Red Skies very soon!

finaly a ground map with proper size!
coolio
Will top tier RB ground maps become as big as Simulator variants? considering the powerful sim-feature of the LR is getting added in RB, and also the improvement of fire control system and target acquisition for several top tier tanks.
Already my new favorite map! Fantastic to see suggestions and different design elements taken on board for this one. Should be perfect for top tier engagements, MORE LIKE THIS PLEASE! However I do hope it is rank-locked to high br tanks, otherwise it will just end up hated by WWII tankers forced to play on it
Finally you're learning how to make good tank maps! Now resist scaling it down like Sinai and Volo to suit the small minded and we're golden. Also pwease bring back Volo.
To all Gaijin map developpers : THIS IS THE BEST MAP IN AGES AND WHAT RANK V/VI/VII NEEDS. Map designers could really show what they are capable off you and you guys are full of talent ! I really hope the designer of this map read that it is wonderful and they deserve free shots of the finest vodka for that !
I agree, excellent map, free shots of vodka for all. But wait, you must pay for premium vodka! It taste the same but it has a fancy label filled with promises of how it will get you drunker than the free one.
Seversk is better.
No, it isn't at least with regards to top tier
I really miss historical maps....
I'm actually looking forward to this map ngl.
I dunno, arch kinda looks like one from bf-1, just sayin... XD
