Tactical air-to-surface missiles
Several models of tactical air-to-surface missiles will be added to the weapon presets of both new aircraft and aviation already researched by players. Two of them are really special, let’s take a closer look.
The Soviet Kh-29L is currently the largest guided missile in the game with a mass of 317kg for an armour-piercing high-explosive warhead. The missile was first tested in combat during the war in Afghanistan and has since been used and modernized for the needs of Russian aviation, and also for export. The Kh-29L has a laser homing system, so the launch of a high-precision weapon can be detected by a potential victim - if there are detection devices, of course.
The American AGM-65A Maverick missile, which will also appear in the “Ixwa Strike” update does not have this drawback. The electro-optical tv guidance system, yet unique to the game, will not permit the detection of the missile's targeting, the missile works in “fire and forget” mode. The disadvantage of an electro-optical television seeker is that the missile cannot be guided in poor visibility conditions: at night, in fog, heavy rain, or through clouds.
New hit effects
In our previous updates, we brought you new hit effects for aircraft and large-calibre naval guns. Here comes a global update for hit effects for all weapons in the game - aircraft, armoured, naval - for all calibres from 7 to 205 mm! Changes in the nature of the hit effect are especially visible when shooting at solid surfaces: concrete, metal, asphalt, soil, etc. In general, we have created a unified hit effect system for different types of projectiles of different calibres on different types of surfaces - more than 120 new effects in total! New hit effects will be added to the game in the near future.
Shell impact animations
In the vehicle card, when you hover the cursor over the different types of shells available, you will see a visual animation of the types of impact of the shell on the target. For example, armor-piercing effect causing shrapnel inside a tank or ship, the explosion of a proximity fuse shell to hit an air target, the action of an ATGM shaped-charge jet, and so on. These animated clues will help players to navigate in a huge variety of ammunition for all types of vehicles - land, air, and sea.
Chaff (radar confusing reflectors)
In the “Ixwa Strike” update, another means of radar countermeasures will be introduced in the game - dipole radar confusing reflectors, or ‘chaff’. Dipoles are a simple, cheap, and therefore a very common means of electronic countermeasures. These are small objects (strips of foil, metallized paper or fibreglass) that shoot out like a cloud behind the aircraft as a decoy target to defend against radar-guided missiles. Like the flares, dipole reflectors can “trick” an enemy missile, guiding it off course, initiate the proximity fuse of a chasing missile, or act as a decoy target for enemy radar.

so when will radar hunting missiles come into the game???
Can't say i like those hit effects. They look out of place.
I like the additions Gaijin, I really do. But there's mainly three bad things going on with WT at the moment, very long Loading screens after we get into the session, constant heavy packet loss and rubber banding in every match and outrageous repair costs that inhibit us of playing some vehicles, I really wish you guys focused a bit more on that before releasing new features.
Meaty shell impacts shouldn't fucking be in a game where the guns don't feel meaty. It's the same as all the sound mods that replace all gun sounds with the same basey *boof* (epic toonder), it doesn't fit the game where darts hit a bmp 1 on the side, go ska pa dooba dooba and ricochet off into space at 90°.
Effects are really unrealistic. Sorry for you Devs
Oh boy we are getting Mavericks now. Tankers are not going to have any fun with those things flying around
Ok, my attitude will probably be unpopular, but although the new hit effects are very cinematic and most impressive from a 3D engine PoV, I hope they have some restraint in using them. I like the historic elements of the game and although the game looks a little visually hyped from time to time, generally it's not TOO far from reality. I know the audience mostly wants bigger and better but I prefer realistic, to a degree at least.
Naahh....couldn't care less with any update....FIX/UPGRADE THE D.A.MN US SERVERS!!!!!!! I play this game from Brasil, for more than 5 years, I was already "forced" to do it under 140-180 ping, but now its been months with terrible ping fluctuations AND PL!! And in the last weeks, I get 280-320 ping...during and only in the hours normal working pleople can play!! FIX IT!!!!!!!
I'm in USA are prefer EU/RU servers. In USA I get 50 ping, 18-38% PL and "Servers not Responding." EU servers give me 135 ping, 0%PL. RU = 165-180 ping, 0% PL. Whiskey Tango Foxtrot, Gaijin. Fewer online players than 2 years ago, but worse server performance? Have you moved the Servers to Tijuana, Mexico? No, Tijuana has better Net connections. Must be on copper wires in Honduras. lol ♥
Server upgrades when? Pretty please?
if adding nords wasn't bad enough now they are giving revenge bombers fire and forget missiles R.I.P ground realistic battles
