World War scenario: Battle for the Fulda Gap
Commanders, we are preparing for the new season of World War mode, dedicated to the Cold War period and Arab-Israeli conflicts. This intelligence data on one of the new scenarios will help you to make your squadron and its vehicles ready for the upcoming battles. The operation begins in July!
World War mode in War Thunder is represented by Seasons that include various scenarios, years of operations, available vehicles and theatres of war. The squadrons and players that take part in battles and Operations will receive (besides the usual battle rewards) special prizes for participation, and the best squadrons and players will receive special valuable prizes after the results of the day and the Season - they are unique for each Season. Alternate history: “Battle for the Fulda Gap”
One of the possible directions of the Soviet invasion into Western Europe was considered a wide lowland area between the mountains of the federal state of Hesse, Germany. This area was designated by NATO military ‘The Fulda Gap”. The lowland was well suited for the operation of a large scale armored group, the main gambit of the Soviet military doctrine in a possible war.
The strategists were right. July 25th, 1985, the USSR initiates a large-scale border breakthrough in the Fulda Gap region, heading towards Frankfurt am Main to capture the financial centre of Germany and establish a foothold for the invasion into Western Europe.
Tasks for the sides in the conflict
These conditions are important for squadrons that enter the operation according to the described scenario.
USSR
- Capture 2 sectors C6, D6 (Frankfurt am Main) within 2 hours.
- Capture at least 78% of the sectors within 2 hours.
- Prevent enemy superiority in number over vehicles 2.5 times.
Germany
- Hold at least 1 sector from C6, D6 (Frankfurt am Main) for 2 hours.
- Hold at least 23% of the sectors for 2 hours.
- Gain superiority in numbers over vehicles 2.5 times.

Even if the participants in the battles don’t have the vehicles presented in the army vehicle group, they will get the group basic vehicle (★), this is always selected in the crew slot by default. All vehicles, including group basic vehicles will be given out with fully researched modifications with the level of training of the player’s crew.

Not sure if someone already made a comment about it, but I feel like the T-72(A variant, at least) should be included, I don't think its op but is one of main tanks of the period. I know East Germans used it as T-72M, maybe its an opportunity for a nice camouflage.
Great potential for fun, as long as the maps used are ok, and the UI makes sense as far as getting into the right battles. Really hoping these types of events go somewhere =)
Would you need Easyanticheat to play this? And is this RB, AB, or SB? EC right?
Why is the free MBT of the german side a Leopard that is 7.7, while the soviet free MBT is a the T-55A, a fully stabilized 8.3 MBT? Its clear theres something going on over here, neither soviets not having a 7.7 mbt or the germans not having a 8.3 mbt are excuses as they both have them such vehicles, so why is it that if you don't have one of the vehicles selected for WWM, the free one that is given for the soviets is much better than that of the german side?
So uh, when is gaijin going to fix the packet loss problems the servers are having? At least 50% of the time packet loss jumps up to 55% and throws your plane into the ground from 1000m up.
I had a go at the first world war event and found it so confusing I ended just pressing random buttons until I got into a game. Second time, same, gameplay was lousy, just too chaotic, will give it a go again but not optimistic. EC for tanks and planes combined please.
I don't think this mode should be called World War anymore. I don't believe you are heading to the right direction. I sure that not more than 30% of players will be able to play this campaign. Why? Because you don't fix your game. And not, I'm are not talking about bugs reports from an e-Sport ready game. I'm talking about your hardcore grinding, repair costs and unbalanced stock vehicles... You got to do something about it, and the solution is not World War...
1.will Italy finally be allowed in wwm and 2. Where is naval ec? ..... ignoring how you have russian versions of the same identical italian naval cannon fire faster on russian ships for literally no reason....
I would like to see the Panzer 4 M50/M51 Sherman from the Six-Day War as a special vehicle.
its too early for Santa wishes, dont u think?!
looks like a fun old time
