I always find it quite annoying to hear a complete description of how great the Lorraine 40t is, without ever hearing anything about its biggest "flaw" : its prohibitive, insane, straight up insulting repair cost, which has done nothing but increase despite its continuous raise in BR.
Yes, I was really hyped to play the "top OP tank of all times" until I read the basic 19k repair cost without upgrades, so I skipped it, bc I don't want to bleed all my money on repairs. same with AMX 50
Indeed, repair costs are terrible for french tanks from tier IV.
Gaijin doesn't understand that high repair costs are ruining the game. It goes something like this: Gaijin raises the repair cost on a vehicle because it's doing good. Then, only the better players play it because only they can make profit with better matches. Thus, the vehicle does even better, because more skilled players are using it, leading to Gaijin increasing the repair cost. IF IT'S OP, THE CHANGE THE BR.
Free FPE and Parts?
Fluff piece...only meant to drive sales. No real insight.
There were a lot of vehicles that you simply could not make any money off of. Some examples being the Fredinand, Ostwind (and succeeding SPAAs) and the Emden. Also why are there different repair costs for RB and AB? It seems to be double the cost in RB.
Yeah and Chinese Tier IV tanks for example the ZTQ62 with the repair cost of 11000+ while the exact same one in soviet tree only cost 5000+
MichaeL98, Soviet tech tree always had advantages, starting from repair costs, to faster access to better ammo (tier2 apfsds, while the rest is tier 4) I never seen any soviet tank with high superficial "balance" repair fee
T-34E, i picked mine up from the marketplace recently, and it's already my favorite. other than that, the other T-34 (76) variants are awesome to play, and the panthers are amazing as well. especially panther 2 with the upgraded gearbox
I couldn't stand the early T-34s because of their trash guns. But once I got the T-34-57 I was much more pleased. Though at their BR the early T-34s can be difficult to pen depending on what nation you're using. I guess I'm just used to German guns that are consistently great through out all ranks.
The_Strateg1st, I find the early ones the t-34s with the md8 fuse my favs and my go to tanks to make money to pay for my Merkava repairs
I'm kind of surprised that the Panther II wasn't mentioned, it's one of the best examples of a all-round tank. Perhaps because it was removed from the regular tree. Also I really wish that repair costs were more consistent, like having heavies cost 3k, mediums cost 2k, lights 1k fully upgraded at rank 3 and increasing by 25% every rank. (just as an example not saying it should be exactly that). Same for naval and aviation. They have improved repair costs in the last year though.
I like how every nation was on here except America which was only in the intro but then never shown again.
You forgot the most critical flaw of the Lorraine 40t: Continuously increasing its repair even with BR increases, to a repair so high (>20,000 SL) that only the best players can earn enough lions to pay for a SINGLE repair in even TWO average battles. Such an obnoxious repair is a huge deterrent for nearly all players, and the French tech tree itself.
as soon as i read best tanks, i immediately thought, "well, how much is the repair cost?!". and don't forget to make essential surviving kits for free, in fact if you want to be Esport ready then get rid of the long grid and massive P2skip system
