Greetings, soldiers! We’re pleased to inform you that we have finally setup Easy Anti Cheat into major gaming modes for all players, we’re now ready to roll it out in one of the upcoming updates. It is an important step to integrate the Easy Anti Cheat system in our game.
The setup process will be done sequentially, and as for this current stage, we will start with EAC implementation in modes which have no markers, as well as tournaments, both being areas where EAC’s help is needed most. The statistics collected afterwards will help us to further improve EAC in future integrations, allowing us to progress to other game modes where prohibited modifications provide fewer advantages.
Enable EAC in advance
We have provided Easy Anti-Cheat for ‘no marker’ modes and tournaments , exactly where it’s help matters more. EAC asks your permission to run when you are entering such battles for the first time.
To avoid re-loading the War Thunder game client, make sure to check the box in the game launcher, you are free to do it any time. That’s all, EAC is on, and you are allowed to play all battle modes!
Double protection
The proven heuristic analysis mechanism continues its active duty in War Thunder. It allows us to effectively spot players with forbidden modifications. Also, you are free to address a direct complaint on any suspicious players via our Replay system.
We will continue to master the EAC algorithms in War Thunder to guarantee safe and enjoyable gameplay for you. Thank you for your support!
F.A.Q.
Does EAC affect a platform’s performance?
No, EAC requires minimal load of your system’s performance abilities, and you won’t notice any changes in performance.
I’m afraid EAC will ban me for sound mods, or team voice chat overlay.
Don’t worry, EAC protects only the core data of the game and doesn’t deal with sound mods. Also, all popular team communication applications are whitelisted in the EAC algorithms.
If you have any issues, please contact the EAC support service.
Are there any issues with EAC and anti-virus software?
Nope, EAC works well with the majority of antiviruses.
EAC is not effective, it can’t protect against anything!
Dozens of super popular gaming projects trust in EAC’s capabilities, so does the War Thunder team. Interestingly, most of these games do not have their own protection system, unlike War Thunder. Also, we continue to use EAC in other games, like Crossout and Cuisine Royale - everything is currently okay!
EAC reports an issue.
Try these solutions:
- Add EAC to the anti-malware exceptions;
- Re-check the EAC checkbox in War Thunder, reload the client, and run EAC again.
- Please report any problems to us.
The War Thunder Team

What about user Skins? Are they safe to use? And what if someone gets a false positive, how realistically possible is it to get your account back?
If you downloaded them from live.warthunder.com they are safe to use.
Stona_WT, so its now impossible to make your own custom skins for your squadron?
You guys are joking - right ... A voluntary Anti Cheat System..."Pls tick it in your launcher" .. Never heard of something so ridiculous ... And dont make it sound like its such a great thing , When you and I both know you actually mean that it is only being implemented in Simulator Modes.. The place where there is the least amount of players... the game mode with a million minute wait time - right ?? Its a joke
I think you did not understand the article. EAC is not a voluntary system.
Stona_WT, Why was this not all done prior to announcement in 1.91 nearly 2 months ago??.. Why did devs continue to test it until now??.. Why is there a rollout phase and not a complete implementation if test phase is complete ?? Somebody somewhere is making really bad decisions... and all the while pissing off your loyal fan base. Cheating In War Thunder is rampant and needs addressing.
Will you bring back ban list annoucements ? Last one was September 23, we are November 19. You were used to do it monthly, so you forgot to release the october one.
i hope this can brake those players that you didn't ban for use wallhack and buying you premium bundles
so... people are still able to exploit the sound system, gj you played yourself.
how can you exploit sound?
Dimitri_Rudov, the so called sound "mods" are allowed to change the files to whatever sound they wanna replace it with, for air battles it doesnt really matter but for ground thats a big part of the strategy, you can boost engine sounds, supress useless sound like artillery, change the sound of the gun sounds to know exactly what gun it is therefore knowing what vehicle is there and so much more. you see the issue now, its a big advantage over people with normal sound just like ultra low quiality on a good pc.
I have been downloading user made items and i and i worried if hacking software can be put on. I am not software wizard and can't get a straight answer.
You don't have to be a software wizard, you just need to have common sense. If you download stuff from WT Live you should be fine, as it is an official repository, if you however download from all over the internet, there is a chance you might install something that is considered illegal or get viruses.
Well I'm hoping that a few players I have reported over the last couple of months will now finally be banned.
I know it's supposed to ignore player skins, but on the very first dev server with it (1.91, I think) I got flagged and my game closed when I tried to load in my F-80 with the Dragon marketplace skin. Any chances of this error coming back (luckily only happened there, and it was only once even after I tried again)? Also what about "out of date" skins that still somehow work? Not too much of a loss given the trade off of having EAC but it's still a loss if they don't work.
Tip: Check loaded DLL's! Normally they try to hack the direct3d injecting stuff in program process. For example like getting vehicle coordinates and then take bot actions. 2 ways , IN process bot or out-process. First one the bot resides inside programs memory. The second, the outside bot is listening a port for communication. When the dll attach occurs, its connects to the listening server. For anti-cheat, most effective ones are sort of kernel drivers which gives a lot of work to work around:D
Yeah, the unfortunate part is that many, many DLL's are asked to attach, even when they are not being used. For instance I use National Instruments very, very, expensive software. I get a lot of "NI****.dll" attaches in just about any application. This now "targets" me as a NI user and vulnerabilities in NI software can now be exploited.
Jester_McCloudy, this, btw, is why I never send crash dump files and all the other stuff they need to hunt a bug.
WM_COPYDATA message its also a way for intraprocess communications. Try to install a watchdog inside game process paired with a windows service. Both of them reporting each other based on time or some actions. Ok, good luck!
