In the upcoming economy update we will focus on the overly expensive repair of heavy bombers. Repair prices, awards for base bombing and costs for suspended weaponry will be corrected and all this will make flying out in heavy bombers much less risky and more affordable for average players. This will of course have an effect on any kind of bombing attack from all bomb capable aircraft.
In addition to the automatic balancing (manual adjustment being done regularly after major updates) of Battle Ratings in War Thunder, there is also an automatic algorithm that is responsible for the game economy. Among its tasks are also the adjustment of repair prices depending on the average earnings of the specific vehicles. Bombers possess base destruction as a unique goal which brings greater income, however, heavy bombers find themselves in a situation over time where prices for repair automatically increase to a substantial amount. This has made flying out in them an economically risky business for players.
Repair cost of some bombers will be reduced !
To solve this problem it would not be enough to simply reduce the award for base bombing and therefore the repair cost because even within one rank the aircraft may have very different carrying capacities which would result in a situation where lightweight bombers would receive a low amount of awards. We believe that the optimal solution is an algorithm that adjusts the award value for base bombing based on the current bomb load. This in turn will reduce the repair cost of some bombers and will not affect the total income of the vehicles even with a low bomb load in any battle result.
For example: a Tu-2S-44 (BR 6.0) with 2,000 kg of bombs will receive a decent award for successful base bombing and the B-24D-25-CO (BR 6.0) with 3,600 kg bombs in turn will not reflect twice the repair costs of the Tu-2S.
The algorithm will affect only awards for base bombing and will not affect other battle awards in any way. So bombers will still retain the ability to provide their pilots with stable Silver Lion earnings.

dear god no. This is a horrible system and you know it. This is really just about reducing Lion gains even more to force premium time.
Yeah its kinds sad, the only real hold back in grinding anyway is SL. Bombers are the main consistent way to get SL and now gaijoob go and do this. If you ask most ju 288c owners why they brought one most people will probably say 'to make a ton of SL'
Closy_, especaily as in a good game you would not pay the much of the repair coast for the 288 so making half the amount of sl (arcording to the table) is not justified. This update (1.91) has been horible for sl in every gamemode
This seems to make bombers just as useless, the incentive to fly won't be there with minimal rewards possible.

I feel bad for the bomber pilots in AB and RB since the struggle is real for them. But coming from the SB side where bombers are a blight... Can't help but be okay with the changes.

This is pointless, you're making rewards worse than they are already to the point where a Tu-4 won't even be able to cover its repair cost even WITH reduced repair.
It's because the casuals don't want bombers in battles and they're VERY vocal about it. There isn't even a point of flying them in RB or SB now, which is what the casuals wanted. The casuals don't spend money though, so this is Gaijin shooting them selves in the foot.

Sorry but all i see is a major profit reduction, as many of your other bomber *cough* IMPROVEMENTS *cough* made this class of planes, pretty much useless for anything other, than base bombing.
Glad to see a reduction in repair cost, but now with the lower reward, it may not be as profitable as before.
DO217 with 4 tons bombs: Price of bomb load before: 900 Price after update: 402 Reward for base (before):3078 Reward for base (after):1375. So the reward is almost divided by 3 and you call that an improvement....
If you do a simple "old repair cost"/"old bombing reward" vs "new repair cost"/"new bombing reward", the vast majority of bomber loadouts need to do MORE to break even.

As I understand it. flying bombers may be more affordable for players that have problems gaining SL maybe due to not having a premium account or having to buy many vehicles. But for people that grind mostly high tier stuff which takes longer, its a change for the worse as grinding with bombers isn't as effective anymore.
SteeeveMaddennn, Check the numbers, the rewards have decreased for certain bombers by a lot and there repair cost is the same or more. This will make smaller front line bombers more profitable and larger 2-4 engine less profitable, think about which trees benefit the most here?
nice one Gaijin you make the game better by give whith one hand and take whith 2 hands, you say you are gonna fix the bomber issue by reduse the repair cost and ajust the bomb reward and now you have done the oposit by making ppl suffer more if they get killed before they manage to use all bombs. the only reason you do this is to try to make ppl get premium time to earn more SL. So instead of having a risk of losing huge amounts of SL while playing Tu-4 or B-29 you're lose it all the time no matter how much bombs you drop. Great change that nobody asked for.
You can thank Air SB EC for that. They were abusing the system using that.
