World War has begun, soldiers! Mobilization!
Attention! Outdated news format. Content may not display correctly.
We knew from the very beginning that World War mode would become an inherent part of the game that would allow all aircraft, ground vehicles and fleet so accurately recreated in the game, to truly shine in historical battles.
Today we are proud to announce the new start of World War mode!
World War is beginning with “Recon under Fire” - it’s the name of the first season which contains “The Battle of the Vitebsk”, “The Battle of El Alamein”, “Northwind” operations and “The Battle for Caen“. Fight for valuable awards until the 10th of June as a member of a squadron or be a lone fighter. World War is open for everyone!
War Thunder is a game about war.
A world war.

When the page refreshes so much that you can't even select a match and see which vehicles you should use and make a proper vehicle set. Much fun when you make a public test and the UI f* people who want to test it up.
Having played it yesterday as part of my Squadron for a number of battles I think this does have legs to go on. So yes it does have some markers, mostly Air and a lot less on the ground. I don't know exactly how it all works, but I do know I had fun and what I liked the most was the ability to play with more than 8 players on one side. More random for sure and tactics had to be developed on the fly, but it was good fun. So a step in the right direction. 4 star award.
Good job working around the rariety problems of the kv´s and t-34s during that time in history by putting a cap on how many could be used. But how come the Germans got shaffted out of there models of the bf109 E-4 and E-7? both of those being built in 1940?
Yay - till I saw the time of the events. Pretty much rules me out being able to play any of these as they are not running in my timezone evenings (NZST) :(
