well the is2 was kinda the russians counter to the tiger tank...much like the us has the pershing...the pershing and tiger are pretty equal for the most part...

is2 wins every time...having ran both is1 and both versions of the is2, and also ran both the tiger 1 and tiger 2, the is2 is....its much harder to kill, now a tiger 2 at long range is pretty hard to take out but up close, its decenly easy, now...an is2 at any range is hard to kill even aiming for known weak points in its armor, for whatever reason, 100mm of armor on the is series can absorb shots from every gun known to man
Otto Carius' stumbled across these new IS-2 in small a town' in Latvia or Lithuania. He thought they were the new Tiger II' captured by the Russian, he then realized that they were new Soviet heavy tank. So he and couple of other tankers started to destroy them. They wiped them all out. I think there were 17, or 20 I can't remember for-sure. Yeah the Tiger1 quicker reload is good match for the IS-2 with its slow reload you be able take them out with ease.
Without a doubt the IS-2 is stronger and has better pen but the tiger has a faster reload speed. In the end I choose the IS-2 but if its the IS-2 against the Tiger II, then I choose the tiger II
