Dear players!
The event, which we started for the 1st of April has come to an end, but our work on War Thunder continues.
We thank you for your feedback, it was very nice to read them!
This testing was successful in the first place because many of the mechanics in War Thunder have already been implemented before: X-Ray view, ATGMs, different types of shells, their distribution in the vehicle etc. War Thunder was ready for modern vehicles. New mechanics, which were implemented specially for the event will be tested for main game modes in War Thunder.
Implementation of such a mission was only possible with support, which you give us every day. Thanks to all the hundreds and thousands of people that helped us to test IXth rank. It was an absolute record among all of our 1st of April events by the number of players alone.
See you on the battlefield!
The War Thunder Team

It was my favorite, you guys did an amazing job, also, it was a nice marketing move, you got me itching to spend money on the game. Does this mean we will be seeing smoke grenades on tanks that had them historically as a researchable modification or as something that will come with the stock tank? Keep up the amazing work!
PLEASE add smoke grenades!
"War Thunder was ready for modern vehicles" I will remember this sentence for long time .
Was More Of Test, Just Like Last Year For Pirate Ships. Didn't Really Feel Like April Fools, Maybe The Hype For Tier IX, I Liked The Event Itself. Heli's Should Be Reconsidederd In Control Or Handling
now i'm even more hyped
Does this mean smoke grenades for tanks that could have them?
Looks like you do not follow our Q&As :(
Stona_WT, IF I remember correctly, it was said that smoke launchers were unlikely to appear in WT due to optimization issues. Since the smoke didn't appear to affect performance in any way, this might mean that WE DEFINITELY GET THEM!! :D
Considering that a lot of pre-war to WW2 vehicles have smoke launchers this test can be very interesting indeed for in game actions. Although I am reserved on how will they implement exhaust based smoke screens ala Soviets.
Fantastic event! Enjoyed it and look forward to seeing what else Gaijin will come up with :D
Nicely done! One game, to cover all our virtual warfare needs from the stone age to the space age hardeharharhar! You can never be sure what that Gaijin snail is up to... Thanks for the peek inside once again this April. Smoke grenades, helicopter gunships & tanks way faster than SPAA`s! (-8
It was really great o7 I truly hope that this article is serious, and not only the conclusion of the April Fool. The smoke grenades seems ready. And I would really enjoy the introduction of modern vehicles.
