In 1940, as the Wehrmacht launched the Westfeldzug against France and the Benelux countries, the German Luftwaffe clashed fiercely with the French Armée de l’Air. One of the most respected French aircraft by German and Italian pilots undoubtedly was the Dewoitine D.520, which was available only in limited numbers at the time the first shots fell. While surely not without flaws, the 5.20 proved itself to be a solid fighter, especially in horizontal maneuvers and considering the limited time the French pilots had to get to know their machines.

Do you own the Dewoitine D.520, or even its rare brother, the D.521? Tell us in the comments about your experiences and share your tricks in defeating its main competition, the German Messerschmitt, with other pilots!
