Today's Update 1.17.40.0 changelog is as follows:

Fixed (with 80% proximity) "black square bug" and several other game freezes, BSOD's and other render bugs;
Some crashes fixed;
No more black squares on the terrain texture;
Fixed bug, when parts of aircraft (wheels, etc) moved out of it;
Sound level is now the same when you press F1 during the battle;
Fixed black rivers that used to appear after Alt+Tab;
Fixed problem with stutter sound of TU-2 when using virtual cockpit view;
Fixed maps: Alps, Crater, Military base, Corsun;
Fixed ailerons and elevators in replays.
