R2Y2 Keiun-Kai V1, V2, V3

R2Y2 Keiun-Kai - is a Japanese reconnaissance jet bomber project, which was created on the basis of the piston aircraft R2Y1 Keiun. It was achieved by removing the piston engine and installing two turbojets. The propulsion of the aircraft would use Mitsubishi Ne-330 turbojet engines in underwing pods, each with a thrust of 1320 kg. The armament was to consist of 4 x 30mm cannons and a bomb weighing up to 800 kg (on the outside rails). According to the calculations the R2Y2 would fly at an altitude of up to 10,000 meters and to reach speeds of 740 km/h. Development began in late 1944, but before the end of the war, the prototype aircraft never flew, because R2Y1 was destroyed in an American bombing raid
