With the release of War Thunder update 1.91, you’ll be able to exclude maps and missions from your personal rotation, as well as mark them as unwanted.
The “Dislike” feature will be available to all players - if a few players from the matching queue have the same mission or location marked as unwanted, the location will be skipped, and the new location will be selected.
An “Exclude” map feature will be available to Premium account owners and guarantees complete removal for the player, of specific locations and missions in multiple gaming modes.
The number of maps and locations that can be selected will be limited for various gaming modes and depends on the overall number of available maps or missions in those specific modes.
The location preference settings work only in random battles in air, land and naval AB and RB.
We are limiting the “Exclude” feature only for Premium account owners as the excluded maps will increase the battle queuing time if all players in a queue have different maps and missions excluded. In such a situation, the matching system will try to find matches for a few players looking for specific maps instead of many players waiting for normal rotation.
We hope that the ability to choose your preferred locations will make your game more enjoyable and comfortable. The War Thunder development team, in our turn, will be able to see which locations most players like or dislike and therefore prioritise for recall, specific maps for revision or removal.
Thank you for playing War Thunder! See you in battle!

I welcome this option, but wouldn't that make the matchmaking take longer, similar to BR decompression which you will not do because exactly of that reason?
Not really. This will just kick you away from maps you refuse to play on. Maps like Husky, or Pellilue. If you go back to hanger rather than play the mission because you hate the map you are still locked out for 8:30 min from your plane or tank lineup. This way you might have a slightly longer wait to get into a match but at least you can be assured that it won't be a map you won't play on.
Thats the kind of things we want! GG! Keep up!
This is going to be one of the best changes to the game yet! It will tell Gaijin Devs what maps are good and which are junk and (unprintable). I remember seeing players ask for this over 6 years ago.
Still doesn't mean you have the right to remove the Maus! Plz consider decompressing top tier, don't let WW2 or post 20 yrs worth of vehicles fight with WW2 vehicles, simple right? Just increase BR of top tier thus giving space for 8.0-9.0 and let these ATGM, High mobility, Stabilized guns fight each other, no reason for 1940-60 to fight 70s and onwards to fight.
A right? Laughable, it is their game, they can ban you, remove every single item in the game if they so desire, for no reason what so ever, work on your wording please.
This is a great change guys, but that doesn't excuse your vast amount of mistakes and bad choices. #PleaseConsider
And here I was thinking this was the odd decent change for the game. Only for premium users, which means I won't come back to the game to try this and maybe buy premium again in the future, I will just stay away like I have done, since this game hasn't brought anything meaningful in years. Pretty bad business practice if you ask me.
The only thing that premium players get is the ability to completely reject maps. Everyone gets the ability to put maps on a don't like slate.
TK1960SubDude, Which is what the nice change is. I don't care if gaijin knows that I don't like X map, I rather have the ability to skip said map. I hate getting the newer maps on ground forces that are just a disgrace, which is part of the reason I stopped playing. So what is better for the matchmaking? If I don't play certain maps, or if I don't play at all? Do you understand? Their reasoning is completely false and wrong. The easier fix would be to get rid of the stupid crew lock mechanic but what do I know
so they fixed it... but hid part of the fix behind a pay wall. nice
Read the devblog again. All players can dislike a map, and if multiple people do so, it'll be removed from rotation.
Would be appropriate if you actually shown the actual map size for specific battles, seriously I wouldn't mind American Desert if the whole map was played, not just the claustrophobic dumb town, which hasn't lost anything in modern MBT battles.
Well clearly they've thoroughly analysed their data (HA!) showing players love that kind of map which is why we've gotten Alaska, American Desert, Italy, and whatever other city callofduty-esque map I'm missing, all ready to be enjoyed at top tier battles.
Goodbye Mozdok!
Oh wait! Have to have a premium account to exclude a map. NVM then :(
*lowers Mp-40, then squints* "I'm actually interested..."
