Birthday of Jiro Horikoshi - The Father of the mighty Zero

Horikoshi was born in Fujioka, where he attended high school. He later attended the First Higher School in Tokyo, and in 1927 he would graduate from the Aviation Laboratory of the University of Tokyo with an engineering degree. Almost immediately after, he became employed in Mitsubishi, in the Nagoya Aircraft Manufacturing Plant.

The Dutch Air Forces in World War Two

Raid over Ploesti - The Lightning Strikes

It was early on a quiet morning on June the 10th, 1944. The sun is rising slowly over an airfield near Fogia in Italy. Forty six P-38 Lightnings of the “82nd Fighter Group” (95th, 96th, and 97th Squadrons) are preparing for for an attack against Oil facilities in Ploesti, Romania, 600 miles away.

The latest PS4 Update receives a warm welcome from Players and Gaming Press alike! - Recently, War Thunder has become one of the first cross platform games to be introduced on the PlayStation®4. This has instigated play between gamers on the PlayStation®4  and the already established PC/Mac  version of the game. It was done in conjunction with the US release of War Thunder on PS®4, which also brought Update 1.41 and Ground Forces along with other major improvements to the console.

D Day, the beginning of the end of the War

The Morning of the 6th of June, 1944:

Thousands of Allied troops began landing on the beaches of Normandy in northern France at the start of a major offensive against the Germans. Thousands of paratroops and glider-borne troops were also dropped behind enemy lines and the Allies were already several miles inland.
