Discount on the Yak-38 for the Anniversary of its First Flight!
The Yak-38 was the first Soviet vertical take-off and landing (VTOL) aircraft and first hovered in the air for the first time during testing on September 22nd 1970. This aircraft was built for service on the Project 1143 heavy aircraft carrier, and first landed on this type of ship in 1975. The Yak-38 was fully introduced and operated in only 1977, 231 Yak-38s were produced by 1989, and the aircraft was decommissioned in 2004.

The YP-38 Makes a Temporary Return for the Anniversary of its First Flight!
On September 17th 1940, the YP-38, being the second prototype of Lockheed’s P-38, took to the air for the first time. Only 13 YP-38s were produced, with P-38s themselves mass-produced in the United States throughout WWII — more than 10,000 aircraft in total. Famous French writer Antoine de Saint-Exupéry also flew the P-38!

Discount on the Ka-50 for Nikolai Kamov’s Birthday!
On September 14th 1902, Nikolai Ilyich Kamov, a famous Soviet aircraft designer, was born. In 1929, together with Nikolai Skrzhinsky, he created the first Soviet autogyro, the KASKR-1 and in 1940, he headed his own helicopter design bureau, where the famous series of Ka helicopters was produced. Kamov and Skrzhinsky invented a Russian word to replace the word “helicopter”: “vertolyot”, an amalgamation of verbs “to spin” and “to fly”.

The Luftwaffe had hoped to destroy RAF fighters in four days and then bomb all military bases and factories of Britain’s military within a month, but thanks to fierce British resistance, the battle dragged on for several months. On September 15th 1940, Germany made a final attempt to gain air superiority, sending more than a thousand aircraft into battle, but the RAF repulsed this attack too. “Never in the field of human conflict was so much owed by so many to so few” Winston Churchill declared during the battle, collectively making all RAF pilots known as “The Few”.

A few years after World War II, the USSR began producing the T-54 tank. Thousands of these tanks were produced and saw action across the globe, from Europe to Africa. Even though half a century has passed since then, T-54s are still in service today. Tanks from this family are also featured in War Thunder, appearing across multiple ground vehicle tech trees.
