Research and purchase requirements reduced for rank 3-5 ground vehicles
As we promised previously, we are reducing the RP requirements as well as the prices in SL for vehicles, modifications, repairs and ammo in ground vehicles of ranks 3-5!
As we introduced rank 6 armoured vehicles, we had to rework research progress for the earlier ranks. Initially War Thunder was originally planned to have only 5 ranks, so research progress and game economy was designed in such a way that players would not reach top tier machines too quickly, so that they would understand all the mechanics of battle and unlock rank 5 as an experienced commander. But additionally, the progress shouldn’t take too long either - otherwise the game would be boring.
After the introduction of rank 6 we had to rework the existing system. Firstly we made progress from rank 5 to 6 smoother in terms of RP and SL requirements than from rank 4 to 5. As for the earlier ranks - it took a lot of work to make the whole progress balanced and we are now happy to announce that the changes will be implemented in one of the nearest updates.
These changes actually mean that:
- RP requirements for vehicle and modification research will be reduced
- SL requirements for vehicle and modification purchase will be reduced
- Repair costs will be reduced
- Ammunition cost will be reduced
- Crew training will be reduced
- Expert and ace crew qualification will be reduced
Besides this we are bringing back the requirement to own the Sturer Emil in order to purchase the Jpz 4-5 and also the requirement to own the Jpz 4-5 to purchase RakJPz 2. These requirements were temporarily removed when the Jpz 4-5 was moved to the lightly armoured TDs branch.
The list of rank changes from 5 to 6 are available here
Research points requirements and prices changes
Preliminary research and purchase changes for ground vehicles rank 3-5
When the economy update is released the mentioned changes will affect the majority of rank 3-5 ground vehicles in all nations.
All of the above mentioned changes will come into effect in one of the following updates but the exact date may still change, follow the news!
The list of BR changes for aircraft are available here
Have fun and see you on the battlefield!

Hi guys please continue discussion here https://forum.warthunder.com/index.php?/topic/389317-development-preliminary-research-and-purchase-changes-for-ground-vehicles-rank-3-5/
I will now communicate my felling in different languages: Gaijin arigatō, Thanks Gaijin, Heil Gaijin, Спасибо, верховный лидер Гайджин, and finally I surrender Gaijin.
Damn Stona, you didn't need to get so rude with those people asking if there would be compensation. They are the minority of dedicated players who reached rank 5 before it was made easier to do so. It would be nice if they received something even if it was symbolic to show off. Maybe some sorry of emblem or special camo that they can put on their vehicles to show off. If I were one of those players I would be happy with something like that because I love War Thunder and its not work to play it.
You mean honest and straight? In 2017 you call it rude? Sorry! Didn't wanted to offend you.
Hahaha, all of these people complaining when if they would just space all their vehicles before moving on and enjoying them, they wouldn't even have to worry about the grind. I've been playing for 2 and 1/2 years now in two tech trees mostly and am only just not getting to rank 5 and am fine with it. Just enjoying playing the vehicles. I've spaded over 150 and still have another 150 already unlocked that I haven't gotten to alone

People that are angry for 'reducing the price after buying it' should calm down. You probably bought your computer and the day after the price went down you said "awwwwHHH WHYY GIVE ME MY MONEY BACK!!" I encourage everybody to co-operate with Gaijin.
If the price of my computer had dropped within 30 days of my buying it, the store I dealt with would have honored the new low price (or matched a competitor's price) and refunded the difference. So instead of the 64,000SL I spent last night on a fire extinguisher , I would have spent say 50,000. The 14,000 extra would be refunded back. Just apply the refunds back for 30 days and you get a LOT of really happy players.
indeed interesting
Real He Man! Checked without reading! :D
Now I can finally get to work on US T4! THANK YOU!
Seriously, all this sounds like the worse insult you could do to the gamers that spent their hours to grind their tanks.
I stopped playing tanks because of the hard grind even with premium. It was damn necasarry, to lower the RP costs.
It may seem like an insult to the small minority that grinded their top tier tanks, but it is a huge blessing for the vast majority which has not yet been able to grind those tanks. In regards to compensations, I think that they could give some symbolic gift, as a proof of good will.
should be better for new players
some good news on my birthday, tnx for the present gaijin XD
Perfect timing, the literal day after i get the maus. gg gaijin, thats an entire day of suffering t-54s and british tanks to finish grinding down the drain lol
