You can unlock this vehicle during the special event : War Thunder Chronicles!
The PV-2 Harpoon is no PT boat, as the name would usually suggest, but a significantly redesigned Lockheed Ventura - a very popular and well known twin engined medium bomber used in a massive numbers towards the end of the World War 2.
The Harpoon was a twin-engined Naval reconnaissance patrol bomber aircraft derived from the PV-1 Ventura (the version build for the US Navy). It was massively reworked model build on the good experience gained with its predecessor, even so, some issues were addressed. The wing area was increased by around 12 square metres, giving it an increased bomb load and shorter take-off time, which was one of the major weaknesses of the PV-1. The tail area was produced as a completely new construction, the structure of the fuselage was reworked for strengthening and the bomb bay area enlarged. Even though the total mass of the aircraft was increased by quite a large factor (around 900 kg), the new machine had better flight characteristics and was more controllable.
Additional armament in the form of multiple forward-firing machine guns and an option to carry HVAR rockets. This was enhanced even more with the D version (the model that will be introduced into the game), which increased the total count of the forward firing 0.5 inch Browning M2 machine guns to the number of 8.
The PV-2 was powered by two Pratt & Whitney R-2800 radial engines with a maximum of 2,000 horsepower each that gave it maximum speed up to 282 mph (454 km/h) at an altitude of 13,780 ft (4,200 m). Its maximum service ceiling was 23,620 ft (7,300 m) with an empty weight of 21,000 lbs (9,538 kg) and a maximum weight with fuel and bomb load was 36,000 lbs (16,300 kg). It was able to carry up to 6,000 lbs of bombs.

The PV-2 Harpoon was a reliable and successful aircraft, but due to the end of World War 2 additional orders were canceled and its career ended shortly after the war, in the USA the aircraft remained in service until 1948 (much longer in other countries, though; e.g. until 1975 in Portugal) and many were converted to the PV-2T trainer version.
Its career doesn't need to come to the end in War Thunder though - version D of the PV-2 will come as a unique reward for the Chronicles of World War 2. It is sure to please many fans of the US Naval bomber branch, especially admirers of the PBJ type aircraft which it will share its specific and similar playstyle with.

Would you give golden eagles for milestones you reach, like 50GE for 100 games won, 100GE for 100 air kills and 100 for 100 ground kills(tanks only), 250GE for 250 kills of each force type, 500GE for 500 kills of each force, 1000GE for 1000 kills of each force etc. Also regarding these events can you do ever once In a while, you can win a premium of your choice, for example, win 150 battles in a week and all premiums become free and you choose any one you want?
Can you pleas add some planes that do not take 10+ hours of game play? your WWII Chronicles are kinda a joke to most people for what you must do to get Evan a low tier bomber. i personally have all but given up since the Old WWI looking USSR bomber got on the war bond shop as i spent nearly every hour i could spare and didnt get half way there as your time limit on wen they were there combined with very difficult task made it near impossible. and that is not by any means only for War Bond Shop.
Pleas reply if you disagree with any thing i have said as i would love to hear i am being herd.
1:69 patch vehicle development when it will be ?
This is best asked in the forums but don't be to surprised if no one knows that answer.
why premium tho :/
Would you really work your ass off for the vehicle that isn't even premium?
Erich_Mohrmann, You never know what Gaijin plans. Ask the Winter Event attendees if they're happy that 75% of their prices are non-premium and that after working their ass off to get them they have to work their ass again off to get the modules.
its a beautiful plane ive wanted forever but not only is it premium its also an event aircraft...
PV-2D can carry up TinyTim in game?
Yes, you can take uncle tim sky diving with you.
when i do all Tanks Chronicles, can i choose between the Matilda or A33 ? or will i get both?
Both.
If you complete 11 stages, you will get both tanks. E. g, I have both Type-62 and Lvt 4 (A) ZiS-2.
Any news on what BR the event vehicles will be(unless of course I missed something on the original post). It would be better to do something like the Op SUMMER did where it showed the BR's and stats of all of the event vehicles.
As the name implies this event progresses through time so the BR's are rising as the years progress to match what was available historically. The available options tend to be spread over a larger area than a random battle too.
show us the matilda ussr plz
Supr Sekrit Dokumintz!
Why do the vehicle not get instantly obtained as most of the previous events? Obtaining them and then have to wait for an update is meh
With only three events available you cannot have completed a vehicle unlock yet so I'm assuming you read this somewhere? And they did this the last time I ground on a vehicle if I recall.
