Hi, soldiers!
Welcome to the Developer Q&A section, in which we’re going to publish our most exciting development plans and explanations about how the game mechanics work. Simply and concisely.

Aircraft
Of course, kerosene is difficult to set fire to, particularly at a height, but an engine fire is still fully possible for jet aircraft. Both the engine and the fuel tanks can catch fire on jet aircraft.
The logic of bomb release in the game, when several mount points are present, works like this: first from the outer pylons, then from the central pylons. Often, it’s actually the larger-caliber bombs that are dropped first. There aren’t so many mounting options for different-caliber bombs in the game or opportunities to provide for a choice of bomb selection – so we have no plans for it in the near future.
We’re constantly working to improve the damage model both for tanks and aircraft. We may in the future make visual damage for the two fuselage structures. In the near future, to solve the problem of the central section, we’re going to somewhat improve the Damage Model for such aircraft, so that the destruction of this wing section also counts as a shootdown.
They aren’t in our near-future plans.
Yes, we periodically update and expand the options to mount weaponry on various types of aircraft. Right now, for example, we’re working on expanding the available suspended armament for Japanese aircraft, to make them more fun in mixed battles. Specifically with regard to jet-powered shells. We also plan to add the Soviet 82 mm and 132 mm armor-piercing RBS-82/132 shells, which will allow the early-series ILs to take on armored vehicles.
Ground vehicles
ATGM carriers already have their own niche in battles, with their own unique gameplay. Also, at a distance of 300 meters, it’s safe to say that most of them already have limited missile control. Because of the narrow field of view of the sight, and thanks to the missile’s flight speed, correcting its flight in under 1 second is extremely difficult. This means that unless you aimed right at the enemy’s silhouette, you probably won’t have the ability to turn the missile in time at that distance. I.e. at that distance, there’s no difference in whether the missile is guided or not.
It isn’t off the table.
No, we don’t currently have such a vehicle in our plans.
Misc
The game has noises for shells that fly past – both on airplanes and in tanks.
No, we don’t plan to implement a terminal velocity of sound effect propagation. In a game in which the player constantly sees explosions and shots at a distance, for which a difference in the speed of sound effect propagation would be noticeable, this would cause a feeling of discomfort due to the difference between visual and auditory output and wouldn’t provide adequate feedback.

Could you look into the sound of flying Tank shells ? I have not noticed any sound to them at all, only from impacts. I even looked in settings and their doesn't appear to be anything wrong there. Thanks XD
I appreciate the efforts of being more transparent and responding to community questions, but these just feel useless. Most of the answers are half-assed and boil down to "maybe", with some answers just circumventing the questions or not responding to half of what's been asked. I personally would enjoy some interesting and concrete answers to interesting questions.
Do you not see the same answers they provided as I do? What is interesting is how many members in the WT community can expect so much out of something they do so little for. You cannot appreciate something you complain about in the same statement. Well,... 'You' can, but see what a quote "half-assed" effort got? "Maybe" ?
Mk 3 FSDS shot for the FV4202 coming any time soon?
Invisible planes in custome games plz fix
i would like to know on what happen to the foliage pieces that you can put on tanks cause i think in april last year you where able to put 6 pieces but now just one so i just want to know what happen
Are there plans to add supersonic aircraft like the English Electric Lightning, MiG-21, or F-104 Starfighter, etc?
Wish you would do something about the physics of tanks around buildings. When a tank drives into a large building they stop but is still able to traverse its gun barrel through solid walls and shoot another tank on the other side of the building...In real life the barrel would strike the wall and the turret would be unable to complete its traverse
Just a suggestion on using "test flight" when working with our planes. Can we get a couple AI bots? Just push a button, initiate a bot? Or have one flying a few klicks out so we can use the AA guns? I suppose there would be problems with this but wondering if this could work. Thank-you
How about the Bell YFM-1 Aircuda or the Convair B-36 Peacemaker? I really want to see these awesome planes in the game one day. They would probably have to be premiums though. Nuclear warheads??????
ALSO: what the happened to the .50s on the B-29!? I was just in a RB match and threw all the rounds into a Ki-84 and NOTHING happened to him!! my gunners were reloading when I died.
We have the ability to select Arcade, Realistic or Simulation, will there ever be the ability to select maps you do or don't want to play? As Gaijin is moving towards the modern era with the Armour and weaponry, will there ever be the ability to select WWII only (not just events)? It is nice to have Experimental, Technical and paper tanks to jiggle the imagination, but most of these were not put in production for a good reason, will there ever be the ability to select production tanks only?
