New War Thunder features:
[Video] Destructible Environment
The Kill Camera X-ray feature
Our team have developed a new feature within the game that will allow players to see how the enemy successfully hit a fatal shot on a players vehicle. A special camera, which is activated immediately after the destruction of the players ground vehicle will display the action that led to the destruction of the players vehicle, - this will show how and where the enemy shell penetrated the armour, which components were damaged, which assemblies were knocked out and any injuries or debilitation caused against the crew members. This will provide the player with a better understanding of how the damage model operates within in our game.
Hangar Armour graphic indication
The new armour graphic indication feature allows players to study the armour characteristics of ground vehicles either for their own defence or to give them the edge over the opponent.
New Game Mode "The Race"
If you are weary of the eternal fight and the heavy toll that battles weigh on you, challenge yourself within War Thunder and have have fun from an unexpected quarter - our new "Race" mode is ideal for you! The "Race" will allow you to take part in a contest of speed with your friends or with random opponents online. The special mission will allow the competitors to speed around a pre-configured route in the air which will require the best choice of racing aircraft and the skill of the pilot to win the race. The "Race" will be available to all our players in the War Thunder update in 1.43.
Oculus Rift DK2 Support
We believe that the future of the videogame industry belongs to virtual reality technology and we are closely following it's development. At last year's Gamescom, our team demonstrated for the first time how useful the Oculus Rift kit can be to virtual pilots.
This year we are pleased to present War Thunder support for the latest version of Oculus Rift which is DK2. Its main feature is the positional tracking of the player's head in all dimensions and the use of higher-definition displays.
