In update 1.71 New E.R.A. we will introduce a lot of new features and one of them is a long anticipated gunner view for aircraft with one gunner position.
In update 1.71 New E.R.A. we implement new camera view for the defensive turret for more than 50 aircraft with one gunner position. The view has been moved as close to the weapon as possible, thus parallax effect is reduced. This view mode is enabled by default, but you can switch back to classic view in the settings.

On the picture of the Ba.65 it looks right, on the other pictures it just looks weird if you can't actually aim but look out somewhere at the side of the mg. Besides that I prefer to focus on evasive flying rather than trying to shoot something down with a single .30 cal mg all while flying in a straight line.
Now only if you could do first person tank commander view.
OMG! Are you saying that this is a step into allowing more than one player to share a multi seated aircraft?! WOW....!
This is quite the nice edition, i would like to know if we are getting a separate convergence set for rockets. They use the same as guns atm, correct?
just give us the update already.
Been waiting for this for a while thxs devs.
i hope in sim u cant change it back to the original 3rd person gunner , right ? that will be like a bit useless for the main purpose of this feature ..
Two questions 1. I only see flexible machine gun positions, are powered turrets modelled as well? 2. Slightly off-topic, but are their any plans to offer a similar view to SPAA in ground forces? Its the same problem as air gunners currently, SPAAs lack a true gunsight to track fast moving targets? Other than this good stuff!!!
Very nice. Will certainly improve the fun for those ground attacker and sim pilots.
Oh Sh*t yes! Ive been waiting for this! Gajin I love you!, But you think that for turrets that are operated behind glass e.g.: Ball turrets, waistgunners, and Rear gunners that have a window between them at the outside-Can you add the actual Glass or whatever transparent material the gunner has to look out of when at his post? I think it would make it realistic if the player had to look out through the glass instead of the camera being placed infront of the glass making the glass not visible thx!
