Well it's not any tank, or even "a good tank". It's the Abrams. There is a reason it got such an aura :)
How to BALANCE M1 abrams... make a video about that! Wait I can tell you. Give at least as mobily tank as the M1 for all nations! Tadaaaa job done!
Leo2AV/4 , T80B/U, Type90/STC, AMX40 British tech tree needs tier 6 Light tank only since they team up with M1s. I think thats could be the correct 9.7-10.0 BR at top tier.
reazn, What is it with you people that you always have the stupid Leopard 2 AV in mind, it´s yet another Leopard 2 prototype and even though it might look like the A models it´s very different (worse). The Leopard 2A4 would be something for the indroduction of the M1A1and T-80U but tanks like the Leopard 2A0-A3 would be more fitting for tank we have now

As an M1 Abrams player (admittedly not spaded yet), "Simply avoid the engagement at all" is my go to strategy for the T-64B unless I am on its flank. The M1 is really good, but a hull down T-64B is scarier imo.
Rapter29, t64b has rounds that lolpen the abrams turret at almost any range, abrams has to be point blank...or aim for turret ring or just get super lucky, i hate those t64's and they even have atgms...
why does everyone call the abrams tough? the t64b beats it in several ways, the ammo in the t64 is far superior, and the armor is too, the abrams can only pen in two spots, the lower front plate and the turret rung (frontally, and with reliability) while the t64b can use almost any of its rounds and pen the abrams at up to 2000m, why does it need a video? i mean even the leo 2k has the means of successfully engaging an Abrams...and it can do it quite well..but the abrams, it cant engage a t64b..

It's the package. Individual aspects may not be the best, the whole picture can be quite scary for a lot of tanks. And the M1 can and do engage the T64B, no doubt about it.
I don't see the point of adding Modern vehicles when everything is classified, and trying to keep it balanced will just end up like armored warfare. Plus the M1 never fought anything, only the A1 and A2. Don't get me wrong I absolutely Love the Abrams in real life, but ingame it plays like a hellcat. From my understanding the Dev's just sorta have to guess at everything's capabilities for the most part? It is kinda lame how the Abrams ingame can die from a Sturm panzer though lol.
Also, I am in complete support of war thunder, and it trying to stay competitive and viable into the up coming years, but it hasn't exactly been the best balancing act. (Playing since the Planes beta) Cheers everyone and good tanking!
Helldog117, one of the reasons not every thing is completely balanced is that this game is based off of real tanks and planes. therefore the American tank battles for tier 2-3. usually ends in a defeat. But through practice and skill you can make any tank "balanced"
i would also like to add, the t64b is a far superior tank in alot of ways...its reverse is only its downfall..having played against them
lol players are seriously having trouble with the Abrams ? Have they played more than one match with them ? 64's and Leo's can kill them from the front at nearly any range. Don't even have to aim for a weak spot, any spot on the Abrams is a weak spot.
The problem is not the armor I think....
Some may have trouble, lots of stuff become obvious once we know it :D

Did you know that chally's turret is bugged and is capped at like 390mm of thickness? Btw bug report has been sent like a month ago.
yeah you forgot to mention the turret ring. even bt-5 can pen the turret ring.
how about fixing dm13 for the L44 so that it can properly deal with the abrams from the front, it was bug reported a long time ago. nonetheless the dm13 is still missing about 60mm of pen, at pretty much all ranges.
