Re, prior comment on B-25J bombload-- My father was a bombardier in 57th Bomb Wing's 340th Bomb Group, flying, among others, B-25J-5's vs. targets in Northern Italy (the infamous, flak-filled, Brenner Pass, mainly-- it was the only rail line into/out of Italy for the Axis at the time). As the Mitchell squadrons typically bombed point targets, such as rail bridges and rail embankments from less than 18,000 feet above Sea Level (as they carried no oxygen systems), they....
...dispensed with the 4x .50 cal "Package Guns" that came factory-installed on late-war Mitchells, and in the final weeks of the war in Euripe, even oftenf flew without the flexible .50 cal machinegun at the bombardier's position installed, due to the lack of Axis fighter threat by then, however, their bombload was uniformly 4 x 1,000 lb bombs, unless using Fragmentation Clusters (of 23-lb frag bombs) vs. enemy troop concentrations, however they routinely had a 3-plan Flak Suppression element..
...precede the main force (typically a dozen B-25J's, in two flights of 6 each. The 3-plan Flak Suppression flight carried 100-lb White Phosphorus incendiary smoke bombs, to obscure flak gunner's view (not to mention scorch any that were hit...). I realize that giving the B-25J its usual bombload of 4,000 lbs might alter play balance, perhaps increasing the Battle Rating of B-25J's by, say, +0.3, but early-war B-25C /-D and -G Mitchells could be put on the US Tech Tree at lower battle ratings...
...And as those earlier versions lacked twin-gun tail gunner positions, or B-25B) had no tail guns at all, and no "package guns" initially, they could revert to WT's current 3,000-lb bomb load, in the interest of play balance at lower battle ratings. -- Just a proposal. And thanks, Gaijun, for running the best game on the Net!
Can't believe I had so many typos (missing letters/characters) in my posts, just now.
xD
My favourite ammo type to use in a tank? Easy, the APDS round that GOES THROUGH THE GUNNERS HEAD AND DO YELLOW DAMAGE
My question is where on earth are MiG-15/17 rocket pods my dev doods?
Wait. It had French ammo. I know french planes are in the British Tree but, still.
...what IS a practice round?
I almost laughed myself out of my chair reading some of this. I love this line particularly "A 152 mm HE shell will spoil any one's day".
