IAR-93B Vultur — Flight of the Vulture

The Flight of the Vulture event brings a unique aircraft to our game, and today we’d like to take a closer look at it! This subsonic fighter-bomber is a joint development of Yugoslavia and Romania. Made in the early 1970s, it was accepted into service by both nations under the names of the J-22 Orao and the IAR-93 Vultur respectively. The Romanian version’s name means ‘vulture’, and its late modification is the one available to players!

In Russia, Helicopter Pilot’s Day is celebrated on the second Saturday of December. It’s an unofficial holiday where in 2002, employees of the Aerosoyuz company organized ceremonial events in honor of their company and helicopter pilots in general.
