Spanish National Day
Attention! This news was published on the old version of the website. There may be some problems with news display in specific browser versions.

From today, it has been more than half a millennium that the Old World ran into a land which was expected to be the Cipangu islands of the Far East. Thanks to the Crown of Castille and the invaluable help of the Pinzón brothers, Christopher Columbus led an enterprise which, at that point, had developed like none other around the globe. The sailors wanted to discover a new path to India. Nothing would be as it seemed at first glance; only time and perseverance would reveal an entirely new continent.

It’s been a long time since that night, when Rodrigo de Triana shouted to signal the very first spotting of Guanahani Bahamas. A day remembered in modern times, with festivities of differing names in various countries, sometimes even on different dates. Within Spain’s territories, it has been assimilated as an officially recognised National holiday. During the 20th century it was not always a Spanish National Day. However, it was finally established with that name in 1981, and since then, Spaniards celebrate el día de la Hispanidad as la Fiesta Nacional de España year after year.

With an upcoming update, we will add this decals to War Thunder to commemorate this day:
