World War has begun, soldiers! Mobilization!
We knew from the very beginning that World War mode would become an inherent part of the game that would allow all aircraft, ground vehicles and fleet so accurately recreated in the game, to truly shine in historical battles.
Today we are proud to announce the new start of World War mode!
World War is beginning with “Recon under Fire” - it’s the name of the first season which contains “The Battle of the Vitebsk”, “The Battle of El Alamein”, “Northwind” operations and “The Battle for Caen“. Fight for valuable awards until the 10th of June as a member of a squadron or be a lone fighter. World War is open for everyone!
War Thunder is a game about war.
A world war.
The War Thunder Team

Whilst we understand that the flavour of the mode will not suit everyone (as we each have our own preferences), we really would suggest that everyone should try the mode and see for themselves, many existing testers like it, and we do feel many that haven't tried it yet will like it. There has been some initial playtesting and changes especially centred around the markers concerns and the solution (which is different to both arcade and tournaments) introduced in the mode, seems to provide the best answers. We will clarify the functionality around these in the near future - perhaps with a video. However pre-judged conceptions before the wide open stage of testing, where many more people will get to experience what this unique mode will have to offer will mean that many people will miss out on a refreshing new way to experience War Thunder.
its honestly worth a try. and, there's only one way to find out if this is worth it
if it is anything like arcade I am out.
