About the JASDF F-86F-40 Sabre Pack

This version of F-86 Sabre, was developed in the mid 50s by the North American company for export to China and Japan. Later on, the Japanese company Mitsubishi assembled 300 F-40’s for the Japanese Air Self-Defence Forces. The model of the standard F-40 has upgraded wing mechanisation with the installation of slats and an increased wingspan, which significantly improved its maneuverability and controllability, especially at low speed and can also be equipped with two AIM-9B Sidewinder AAMs.
